[edit]Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions; however, please remember the essential rule of respecting copyrights. Edits to Wikipedia, such as your edit to the page Bernardo Fort Brescia, may not contain material from copyrighted sources unless used with permission. It is almost never okay to copy extensive text out of a book or website and paste it into a Wikipedia article with little or no alteration, though you can clearly and briefly quote copyrighted text in the right circumstances. Content that does not comply with this legal rule must be removed. For more information on this, see:

Please help me with... Edits removed by user We made some edits to Bernardo_Fort_Brescia that were reverted by user Dianaaa. We are not only the originators of the added content, we have sole permission to include the information from his website biography. All information that was added to the page is true and we wish it to be revived. ARQwiki (talk) 18:59, 14 July 2020 (UTC)
- You may think you have permission to use the material, but copying something from a website which claims copyright to it is not allowed. You have to understand that any sort of 'sole permission' is contrary to the licensing requirements for Wikipedia. Diannaa is an expert at dealing with copyright violations and you can talk to her on her talk page if you require further explanation. — jmcgnh(talk) (contribs) 19:43, 14 July 2020 (UTC)
- Thank you - I have brought up my concerns with via her page.

[edit]Hello ARQwiki. The nature of your edits, such as the one you made to Bernardo Fort-Brescia, gives the impression you have an undisclosed financial stake in promoting a topic, but you have not complied with Wikipedia's mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. Paid advocacy is a category of conflict of interest (COI) editing that involves being compensated by a person, group, company or organization to use Wikipedia to promote their interests. Undisclosed paid advocacy is prohibited by our policies on neutral point of view and what Wikipedia is not, and is an especially serious type of COI; the Wikimedia Foundation regards it as a "black hat" practice akin to black-hat SEO.
Paid advocates are very strongly discouraged from direct article editing, and should instead propose changes on the talk page of the article in question if an article exists. If the article does not exist, paid advocates are extremely strongly discouraged from attempting to write an article at all. At best, any proposed article creation should be submitted through the articles for creation process, rather than directly.
Regardless, if you are receiving or expect to receive compensation for your edits, broadly construed, you are required by the Wikimedia Terms of Use to disclose your employer, client and affiliation. You can post such a mandatory disclosure to your user page at User:ARQwiki. The template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=ARQwiki|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}
. If I am mistaken – you are not being directly or indirectly compensated for your edits – please state that in response to this message. Otherwise, please provide the required disclosure. In either case, do not edit further until you answer this message. — jmcgnh(talk) (contribs) 19:47, 14 July 2020 (UTC)
- I am not a paid advocate. Just a fan. Thank you. — Preceding unsigned comment added by ARQwiki (talk • contribs) 20:53, 14 July 2020 (UTC)
- Fair enough. I interpreted your earlier statement about being the originator of the website content and having received 'sole permission' to use that content as a sign that you had some connection with Fort-Brescia or the firm. A conflict of interest can exist without any money changing hands and Wikipedia treats the term as applying quite broadly. — jmcgnh(talk) (contribs) 01:30, 15 July 2020 (UTC)
