Welcome!

[edit]

Hello, AMPmro, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions.

I noticed that one of the first articles you edited appears to be dealing with a topic with which you may have a conflict of interest. In other words, you may find it difficult to write about that topic in a neutral and objective way, because you are, work for, or represent, the subject of that article. Your recent contributions may have already been undone for this very reason.

To reduce the chances of your contributions being undone, you might like to draft your revised article before submission, and then ask me or another editor to proofread it. See our help page on userspace drafts for more details. If the page you created has already been deleted from Wikipedia, but you want to save the content from it to use for that draft, don't hesitate to ask anyone from this list and they will copy it to your user page.

One rule we do have in connection with conflicts of interest is that accounts used by more than one person will unfortunately be blocked from editing. Wikipedia generally does not allow editors to have usernames which imply that the account belongs to a company or corporation. If you have a username like this, you should request a change of username or create a new account. (A name that identifies the user as an individual within a given organization may be OK.)

In addition, if you receive, or expect to receive, compensation for any contribution you make, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation to comply with our terms of use and our policy on paid editing.

Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your messages on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically insert your username and the date. If you need help, visit the Teahouse, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or ask your question on this page and then place {{Help me}} before the question. Again, welcome! If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Draft:AMP MRO, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Your account has been indefinitely blocked from editing because it has been used for advertising or promotion, which is contrary to the purpose of Wikipedia. Also, your username gives the impression that the account represents a business, organisation, group, or web site, which is against the username policy.

If you intend to make useful contributions instead of promoting your business or organization, you may request unblock and a username change. In your reasons, you must follow all these steps:

  1. Disclose any compensation you may receive for your contributions in accordance with the paid-contribution disclosure requirement; and
  2. Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the kind of edits for which you were blocked; and
  3. Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked; and
  4. Provide a new username.

To do this, insert the text {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with your new username and replace the text "Your reason here" with your reasons to be unblocked.

Please note that the new username you choose cannot already be taken and in use by another account. You can search to see if the username you'd like to choose is available. If the search returns that no global account with that username exists, that means it is still available.

Appeals: If, after reviewing the guide to appealing blocks, you believe this block was made in error, you may appeal it by adding the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your reason here" with the reasons you believe the block was an error, and publish the page. Secretlondon (talk) 19:16, 4 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
This user's request to be unblocked to request a change in username has been reviewed by an administrator, who declined the request. Other administrators may also review this block, but should not override the decision without a good reason (see the blocking policy). Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Requested username:

Request reason:

I am a paid employee of the company and did not realize I would be breaking any rules by posting. My intent is to have a generic company page that utilizes information from its website and news releases to inform anyone looking for more information. Any and all help to make the page wikipedia compliant would be most welcome!

Decline reason:

Your choice of new username would be acceptable, but Wikipedia is not for companies to document their existence or tell about themselves and what they do. Wikipedia articles are typically written by independent editors wholly unconnected with the topic, and summarize what independent reliable sources with significant coverage have chosen on their own to say about the company, showing how it meets the special Wikipedia definition of a notable company. You won't be unblocked to, in the short term, edit about your company, so we will need to know what you will edit about instead(topics for which you have no conflict of interest and are not a paid editor/employee). If you have no other interest, this is the end of the road. 331dot (talk) 07:38, 5 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Your new username would be appropriate. However, I don't think you understand the purpose of Wikipedia. We're not really interested in some kind of "About Us" material. Articles should summarize what reliable and, critically, independent sources say about a subject. If there is not a substantial quantity of such material about a subject which cover it to a reasonable depth, we shouldn't have an article about it at all. If your intent is to write such "About Us" material about the company, you will need to use a more appropriate venue, such as the company's own website or social media, as that would not be permitted here. Is there anything you're interested in doing besides that? Seraphimblade Talk to me 20:10, 4 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you. Yes, my goal is to use third party news resources to show that the company exists and what its capabilities are based on the accounts of external sources. Happy to make this fit within your guidelines! — Preceding unsigned comment added by AMPmro (talkcontribs)
I have moved your unblock request to the bottom of the page. Please place new talk page postings at the bottom to preserve the correct chronological order of the discussions. You also didn't sign your last post; please ensure that all your talk page postings are signed so that everyone can see who said what, and when. --Drm310 🍁 (talk) 05:56, 5 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
