Please don't move an article by copying and pasting its contents; this breaks the article's history (it will be left behind at the old location), which needs to be preserved for reference for further editors, and for legal reasons as well. If an article needs to be moved and you are unable to use the move function, then ask for it to be moved at requested moves. - Mike Rosoft (talk) 08:38, 31 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I have once again moved the article back to Andover-Exeter rivalry. If there are multiple equivalent names for an article, then one (NOT both) is chosen and others are made to redirect to it. (See the naming conventions.) For example, "theater" and "theatre" are both equally correct (in American and British English, respectively); the article is located at theatre and theater redirects to it, and there's no article theatre/theater. - Mike Rosoft (talk) 08:47, 31 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

You chose the wrong one it's the [Harvard–Yale football rivalry] not the Yale-Harvard football rivalry. If the choice is arbitrary then please choose Exeter-Andover rivalry. I did not realize I was messing up the references earlier.

Thank you very much.

  • What reason is there for "Andover-Exeter rivalry" being a better choice of the page's title than "Exeter-Andover rivalry"? (If there's none, then the guideline is that the page should not be arbitrarily moved to a different title.) I had previously asked you to ask for the page to be moved at requested moves; you have instead bypassed the blocked title (note: only administrators can delete pages, including by moving another page over it unless it has trivial history) by moving it to a slightly different one. With your permission, I am going to restore the original title, and then you'll have the chance to do it right: go to requested moves, and explain why the page should be moved. - Mike Rosoft (talk) 09:22, 31 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

When I tried to move it is said request denied or something along those lines. I thought you changed the name in the end. What is wrong with it the way it is now? Everyone's happy.

  • Exactly; you couldn't have moved the article to Exeter-Andover rivalry, because that page already exists and has non-trivial edit history. And I already told you what was wrong with your moves: if there are two equivalent names for a topic, and the page has been created under one, it shouldn't be moved to the other without a good reason. - Mike Rosoft (talk) 10:50, 31 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
    • By the way, when you post a message on a talk page, you should sign yourself by adding ~~~~ after the comment to sign yourself, so that it can be seen who wrote the message and when. (There's also a "Signature and timestamp" button in the edit box toolbar, that can be used instead of typing the four tildes.) - Mike Rosoft (talk) 10:57, 31 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The article Cilley Hall has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Non-notable prep school dormitory.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
