Derpy
[edit]For the past few weeks, you keep including Derpy's role in the plot of My Little Pony: The Movie (2017 film). Each time it is reverted, you keep adding it back. I ask that you please stop, as detailing cameos such as Derpy's scene typically violate Wikipedia's guidelines for a general summary (only important details should be kept). And to demonstrate how Derpy's role is only a cameo, if you look closely at the scene in the film just before Twilight can be turned to stone, you will notice a rainbow streak that fills the screen at the last moment, just after Rainbow Dash (as confirmed in the leaked script) cries out her name off-screen. Derpy certainly tries to save Twilight, but fails and gets turned to stone in her place, ultimately contributing nothing to the plot beyond a nod to the fans. And because Wikipedia frowns upon fan coverage, that's all the less reason to include it. Also, while there has been interpretation that Derpy's accidental sacrifice ultimately helped Twilight escape, a., that is still too much detail, and b., that is original research at best, which is also a big thing to keep out of Wikipedia.
On a semi-related note, I also ask that you refrain from your repeated edits for Derpy's section in the List of My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic characters article. "Derpy Hooves" is not what she is called in the show itself; she is called "Derpy" in one episode, and "Muffins" in the credits and scripts of every other. That's why her section shouldn't be called that. Furthermore, what you are describing about her role in Slice of Life is plot summary. This article is for character summary. Her role in that episode is already summed up in a single sentence in the first paragraph of the "Background characters" sentence, which is all any of these characters need. The statement of "Beyond the credits and the toys, however, Derpy's canon name remains unchanged. No script or episode has referred to her as "Muffins" to this date." is both blatant original research, and incorrect at that.
To clarify, edits such as this are best left to the My Little Pony fan wiki. They are not suitable for Wikipedia, and they will be reverted every time you attempt to add them back. Please understand. User:SubZeroSilver (talk) 14:07, 5 November 2017 (UTC)
About the movie:
I'm not answering much on this, as I feel I have explained it well enough already. Derpy contributes something important to the movie. Regardless if what you say about the voice calling Twilight (oddly enough, I heard myself that it sounds a lot like Rainbow rather than Derpy) and the rainbow streak is true, it was in the end Derpy who saved Twilight, not Rainbow Dash. It also didn't happen accidentally, she rushed to save Twilight and ran in front of her to take the blow. This can easily be seen with how she aimed directly for Twilight and by her concerned expression when she looked at Twilight. She also didn't fail, she managed to do what she wanted to do, saving Twilight by sacrificing herself. You need to pay more attention to what you see. Derpy might not be very important to you, but regardless of her side character status and the fact she's the fandom's favourite pony, she still contributed significantly by helping Twilight to get away, something that kicked off the events of the movie as we saw them. Giving you an example here, Apple Cobbler and the other mare we saw at the beginning who talked about Twilight before we saw her at the window, these were cameos, as they did not contribute significantly to the movie's plot. What Derpy did is more than a cameo, so I will bring it back.
About the episodes:
She is called "Derpy", period. This is the only canon name she was ever referred as to; credits, toy names are not canon, censorship because of audience complaints can not alter canon. Her role in "Slice of Life" is already described by me in a very basic way, there is just a bit more to say about Derpy because of the reasons behind the decision to give her these roles and appearances than it is with other ponies. Basic descriptions of roles are common for characters, even if they don't have own pages. Finally, the statement is correct. The name "Muffins" has never appeared in any episodes, so I will stick to her true, canon name. Furthermore, saying this for a possible future, I will keep describing this part of the article to clarify that the name "Muffins" was only used to refer to Derpy (if such a thing should ever happen, hopefully it won't) as a further censorship of her already canonically established name after this happened the first time in Season 2: "In Episode XX of Season X, Derpy Hooves was referred to as 'Muffins' for the first time in the show, which follows up on the removal of her canon name in 'The Last Roundup' based on audience pressure." Because of these reasons, I will bring back these things too.
Overall, your flimsy arguments, incorrect statements (I could see Trump call that "alternative facts") and the zeal with which you undo actual, factually correct information about Derpy convinces me you are someone who hates Derpy and doesn't want that certain truths about her get documented. Especially how vigorously you remove the part about the actual truth about the number of people who complained about Derpy given by Amy Keating Rogers herself and sourced for proof gives this impression.
Because of this, I will keep to bring this back. I edit for the truth about Derpy, therefore, I have the longer breath and will do this until you give up. You make it blatantly obvious that you don't like Derpy and that your dislike influences your actions. Do not do this again. Wikipedia is for facts, not to see your opinions or personal tastes mirrored by its articles. That you remove correct, factual information about Derpy because you dislike her and want that Wikipedia readers only hear your opinion about Derpy falls under disruptive editing. Keep doing this and I will request the assistance of an administrator and recommend your IP getting blocked to prevent you from spreading falsehoods based on your opinion. This is my last message to you. Heed this warning. 84.112.58.200 (talk) 19:56, 21 December 2017 (UTC)
