Information icon Hello. This is a message to let you know that one or more of your recent contributions, such as the edit you made to Slayer, did not appear constructive and has been reverted. Please take some time to familiarise yourself with our policies and guidelines. You can find information about these at our welcome page which also provides further information about contributing constructively to this encyclopedia. If you only meant to make test edits, please use the sandbox for that. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you may leave a message on my talk page. Thank you. 4TheWynne (talk contribs) 02:48, 26 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

If this is a shared IP address, and you did not make the edits referred to above, consider creating an account for yourself or logging in with an existing account so that you can avoid further irrelevant notices.

Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, your addition of one or more external links to the page Don Dokken has been reverted.
Your edit here to Don Dokken was reverted by an automated bot that attempts to remove links in references which are discouraged per our reliable sources guideline. The reference(s) you added or changed (https://www.discogs.com/Don-Dokken-Breakin-The-Chains/release/9315979) is/are on my list of links to remove and probably shouldn't be included in Wikipedia.
If you were trying to insert an external link that does comply with our policies and guidelines, then please accept my creator's apologies and feel free to undo the bot's revert. However, if the link does not comply with our policies and guidelines, but your edit included other, constructive, changes to the article, feel free to make those changes again without re-adding the link. Please read Wikipedia's external links guideline for more information, and consult my list of frequently-reverted sites. For more information about me, see my FAQ page. Thanks! --XLinkBot (talk) 01:09, 29 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not add unsourced or original content, as you did with this edit to Timeline of the Donald Trump presidency (2020 Q4 - January 2021). Doing so violates Wikipedia's verifiability policy. If you continue to do so, you will be blocked from editing Wikipedia. Materialscientist (talk) 12:47, 10 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Stop icon You may be blocked from editing without further warning the next time you add unsourced material to Wikipedia, as you did with this edit to Timeline of the Donald Trump presidency (2020 Q4 - January 2021). Materialscientist (talk) 12:51, 10 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

It's not "unsourced" I provided a source, the Associated Press. Stop harassing me or you will be reported.

Proper sourcing

[edit]

Wikipedia:Verifiability The word "source" when citing sources on Wikipedia has three related meanings:

  • 1) The specific piece of work itself (the article, book, op-ed, etc)
  • 2) The creator of the work (the writer, journalist. Could be more than one)
  • 3) The publisher of the work (for example, Random House or Cambridge University Press)

You are just adding "Associated Press". That is not how it works. How is anyone supposed to find your source? You need to point them to exactly where you are getting your information. ―Buster7  16:15, 24 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Type in on Google "2020 Election Tracker" and it comes up.

A belated welcome!

Edit warring warning

[edit]

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war; that means that you are repeatedly changing content back to how you think it should be, when you have seen that other editors disagree. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus, rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.

Points to note:

  1. Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made;
  2. Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.

If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes and work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing. Prcc27 (talk) 17:33, 25 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Please stop your disruptive editing.

If you continue to disrupt Wikipedia, as you did at 2024 United States presidential election, you may be blocked from editing. Sundayclose (talk) 00:11, 26 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Stop icon with clock
Anonymous users from this IP address have been blocked from editing for a period of 72 hours for edit warring, as done at 2024 United States presidential election.
During a dispute, you should first try to discuss controversial changes and seek consensus. If that proves unsuccessful, you are encouraged to seek dispute resolution, and in some cases it may be appropriate to request page protection.
If you think there are good reasons for being unblocked, please read the guide to appealing blocks, then add the following text below the block notice on your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.  ‑Scottywong| [spill the beans] || 23:38, 27 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello. I have noticed that you often edit without using an edit summary. Please do your best to always fill in the summary field. This helps your fellow editors use their time more productively, rather than spending it unnecessarily scrutinizing and verifying your work. Even a short summary is better than no summary, and summaries are particularly important for large, complex, or potentially controversial edits. Thanks!
