Welcome![edit]

Hello and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Unfortunately, one or more of your recent edits to the page Students for Cooperation has not conformed to Wikipedia's verifiability policy, and has been or will be removed. Wikipedia articles should refer only to facts and interpretations that have been stated in print or on reputable websites or in other media. Always remember to provide a reliable source for quotations and for any material that is likely to be challenged, or it may be removed. Wikipedia also has a related policy against including original research in articles. Additionally, all new biographies of living people must contain at least one reliable source.

If you are stuck and looking for help, please see the guide for citing sources or come to the new contributors' help page, where experienced Wikipedians can answer any queries you have! Here are a few other good links for newcomers:

Information icon Please do not add or change content, as you did at Students for Cooperation, without citing a reliable source. Please review the guidelines at Wikipedia:Citing sources and take this opportunity to add references to the article. Thank you. - Arjayay (talk) 14:39, 30 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I am attempting to enter the sources and referance for the Students for Cooperation article, it does not help that you are undoing all the work I have been doing for the last few hours! I saved what I had done so far as I needed to go out and come back to finish it. Forgive me its a little frustrating considering all the hard work I have been doing to see it undone...
Generally, references should be added at the same time as the text. Although I normally give an editor an opportunity to add references, when they continue editing the same article, you changed from editing Student housing cooperative to editing Students for Cooperation, without adding any references. In such circumstances. it is not unreasonable to assume you have left an article unreferenced.
Please also check your spelling before saving an edit - Student housing cooperative came up on my list of misspellings "Thier are also iniatives" to name but two.
Finally, please sign all posts on talk pages with 4 tildes ( ~~~~ ) which will add your signature and a timestamp. Thanks - Arjayay (talk) 15:24, 30 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Managing a conflict of interest[edit]

Information icon Hello, 82.13.144.180. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places, or things you have written about in the article Students for Cooperation, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a COI may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic, and it is important when editing Wikipedia articles that such connections be completely transparent. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. In particular, we ask that you please:

  • avoid editing or creating articles related to you and your family, friends, school, company, club, or organization, as well as any competing companies' projects or products;
  • instead, you are encouraged to propose changes on the Talk pages of affected article(s) (see the {{request edit}} template);
  • when discussing affected articles, disclose your COI (see WP:DISCLOSE);
  • avoid linking to the Wikipedia article or to the website of your organization in other articles (see WP:SPAM);
  • exercise great caution so that you do not violate Wikipedia's content policies.

In addition, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation (see WP:PAID).

Please take a few moments to read and review Wikipedia's policies regarding conflicts of interest, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, sourcing and autobiographies. Thank you. Optakeover(U)(T)(C) 14:54, 30 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Please stop adding inappropriate external links to Wikipedia, as you did with this edit to Student housing cooperative. It is considered spamming and Wikipedia is not a vehicle for advertising or promotion. Because Wikipedia uses nofollow tags, additions of links to Wikipedia will not alter search engine rankings. If you continue spamming, you may be blocked from editing Wikipedia. Thank you. Yintan  19:04, 30 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I am trying to be informative and make sure the article is up to date by including a referance to ASHCO, I'm not interested in changing google searches, etc or advertising and the other Australian Housing Coops are linked in exactly the same way! How am I being inconsisntant with the article as is??

Forgive me it appears *you? have removed the links that used to exist for those other australian housing cooperatives. I will add a referance to ASHCO in the appropirate way with referance.

References[edit]

Adding references is how we ensure that content is valid. Without references, a reader can not easily validate information and there is no presumption of accuracy. See Help:Referencing for beginners and Help:footnotes. This is covered by the Wikipedia policy of wp:verifiability (WP:V). Please wp:cite your edits with wp:reliable sources (RS). Per WP:V unsourced content can be removed. Thank you Jim1138 (talk) 06:57, 1 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

October 2016[edit]

Stop icon You may be blocked from editing without further warning the next time you add unsourced material to Wikipedia, as you did with this edit to Student housing cooperative. Jim1138 (talk) 07:07, 1 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Facebook is not a reliable source. Do not use it for this purpose. Jim1138 (talk) 07:08, 1 October 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Ok I apologise but I was trying to add some form of referance to those iniatives and that was the best I could find. You know for someone who is trying to edit wikipedia for pretty much the first time this is not exactly a welcoming experiance.
