Information icon Hello, I'm GiantSnowman. I wanted to let you know that one or more of your recent contributions to Colin Grainger have been undone because they appeared to be promotional. Advertising and using Wikipedia as a "soapbox" are against Wikipedia policy and not permitted; Wikipedia articles should be written objectively, using independent sources, and from a neutral perspective. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about Wikipedia. Thank you. GiantSnowman 15:15, 8 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

The contribution is not promotional. The contribution is factual and necessary. Also, the Colin Grainger page is riddled with factual errors. Feel free to keep these errors on the page, as I now realise that editors are more interested in perpetuating their own sense of control rather than disseminating facts.

Hi there - if you can highlight any errors you feel there are with the article we can try and find reliable, third-party sources which WP:Vverify the information. Wikipedia relies on such sources to verify information; this is particularly important about living people, for obvious reasons.
I disagree about the promotional - the link was to the publisher's website, and I can't find anything in reliable, third-party sources about the book. GiantSnowman 16:10, 8 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

It's not my job to correct your factual errors. I gave up doing so long ago. I've had too many disagreements with editors who are more interested in their own sense of control than in disseminating facts. Consequently, Wikipedia is not a reliable source for historical football facts. For this reason, I no longer contribute financially to Wikipedia. This Colin Grainger page is a mix of fiction and fact, and I suspect it will remain that way in perpetuity. Good luck to you.
