Welcome!
[edit]Hello! I noticed your contributions and wanted to welcome you to the Wikipedia community. I hope you like it here and decide to stay. You are welcome to edit anonymously; however, creating an account is free and has several benefits (for example, the ability to create pages, upload media and edit without one's IP address being visible to the public).
As you get started, you may find this short tutorial helpful:
Alternatively, the contributing to Wikipedia page covers the same topics.

[edit]Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. You appear to be repeatedly reverting or undoing other editors' contributions. Although this may seem necessary to protect your preferred version of a page, on Wikipedia this is known as "edit warring" and is usually seen as obstructing the normal editing process, as it often creates animosity between editors. Instead of reverting, please discuss the situation with the editor(s) involved and try to reach a consensus on the talk page.
If editors continue to revert to their preferred version they are likely to lose their editing privileges on that page. This isn't done to punish an editor, but to prevent the disruption caused by edit warring. In particular, editors should be aware of the three-revert rule, which says that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Edit warring on Wikipedia is not acceptable in any amount, and violating the three-revert rule is very likely to result in loss of your editing privileges. Thank you. Okay, but I have a purpose using a set of links so I can pull out useful information. The other one is just being stupid.
- You can create an account then you will have the ability to create your own personal user sandbox in your userspace. It's private and you can do whatever you want with it. See H:SAND Bobherry Talk Edits 04:02, 14 November 2021 (UTC)
Yes, I know, but I only read the site to pull data from it. I don't edit except maybe to fix spelling and the like. Thanks.
Btw, I've got my list in an old version of the page now so don't need the live one anymore. Thanks again.
Hello, I'm Bobherry. I noticed that you made a comment that didn't seem very civil, so it may have been removed. Wikipedia is built on collaboration, so it's one of our core principles to interact with one another in a polite and respectful manner. If you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Bobherry Talk Edits 14:33, 14 November 2021 (UTC)
Hello again. You're quite right about collaboration and I shouldn't have retaliated. It's rare that I actually write anything on the site but if I encounter someone like that in future, I'll try and walk away from it. Thanks for your help.
This is the discussion page for an IP user, identified by the user's IP address. Many IP addresses change periodically, and are often shared by several users. If you are an IP user, you may create an account or log in to avoid future confusion with other IP users. Registering also hides your IP address. |
