The Emerald Theatre is a live multi-use entertainment and concert venue located in downtown Mount Clemens, Michigan.

The Venue The 23,000 square foot building, built in 1921, houses the theater with a general admission capacity of 1,620 on three levels, with cabaret-style terraced seating and a dance floor both of which convert to theater-style seating, a mezzanine level containing permanent theater seating, the Rock Room bar and a standing-room third floor grand balcony. The venue hosts a variety of local and national concerts, comedy, corporate, wedding and entertainment events.[1] [2]

History The Emerald Theatre, which opened in 1921 as the Macomb Theatre, was designed by C. Howard Crane, acclaimed theater architect who also designed Detroit's Fox Theatre and Orchestra Hall, and New York’s Radio City Music Hall. One of the first grand movie palaces and vaudeville live performance venues in the metropolitan Detroit area, the Emerald Theatre is the largest venue of its type in Macomb County.

Beginning in 1987, the venue went through a series of name, use and ownership changes. It was first called the Emerald Theatre in 2000, its new owner operating it as a nightclub and concert venue with shows by Kid Rock, the Cult, Alice in Chains, Pearl Jam, and other national acts. It was eventually sold in November, 2012, and underwent renovations by the new owners at an estimated cost in excess of $2 million. Renamed the Macomb Music Theatre, it operated briefly from 2013 – 2014. −

The theater was eventually purchased in February, 2016, and after further restoration and repairs including a new marquee, redesigned Rock Room bar, and a revival of the Emerald Theatre name, the venue reopened in December of 2016, hosting live concerts, corporate, wedding and other private and entertainment events.[3] Pr4dhp (talk) 20:30, 10 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I am not sure why this request for a merger was in an IP's talk page, @Pr4dhp:, but it has been resolved since and I have marked it as answered. Mehmuffin (talk) 17:57, 29 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]
