Sock puppet investigation

[edit]

I have opened an SPI against you which you can find here: Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/A bicyclette. Mztourist (talk) 07:09, 30 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Blocked as a sockpuppet

[edit]
Stop icon with clock
You have been blocked from editing for a period of 2 weeks for abusing multiple accounts as a sockpuppet of User:A bicyclette per the evidence presented at Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/A bicyclette. Note that multiple accounts are allowed, but not for illegitimate reasons, and any contributions made while evading blocks or bans may be reverted or deleted. Once the block has expired, you are welcome to make useful contributions.
If you think there are good reasons for being unblocked, please review Wikipedia's guide to appealing blocks, then add the following text to the bottom of your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.  Izno (talk) 19:23, 30 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Request Unblock

[edit]
This user's unblock request has been reviewed by an administrator, who declined the request. Other administrators may also review this block, but should not override the decision without good reason (see the blocking policy).

Request reason:

I am the user @A bicylette. I have not been editing or using wikipedia in nearly 5 years since 2018. I also do not have access to my Wikipedia account anymore. The edits I made have not broken any rules, and I am not interested in starting and continuing edit wars or violating etiquette. The edit I did contribute to had added verifiable sources and paragraphs, which was present in previous versions and removed for dubious reasons.

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?diff=1252188947&oldid=1250759636&title=South_Korea_in_the_Vietnam_War

I am not interested in edit wars with the user who had requested the block. When I was active several years ago, the user had persistently WP:HARASS and WP:FOLLOW me across several pages I started and contributed to, as I believe he had issues with the content I wrote several years ago and had a pattern of stalking my edits. The user was the one that requested I be blocked indefinitely originally, and refused to engage in any discussions.

I am requesting that my account and IP address be unblocked, and will not engage in edit wars and will continue to follow procedures. If the appeal is granted, I will refrain from cross-editing with the user and request the user do the same with edits I have made.

As a note, the user has a persistent pattern of having other users blocked and has 7 users listed as sockpuppets on the user's talk page. There are also several IP addresses which the user believed was done by me, which are not since I have not been contributing since my original block. The user I suspect is initiating some sock puppet investigations to revert or shut down edits that they disagree with.

Decline reason:

Your edits should be "shut down" if you are socking, regardless of their merits, as you are not permitted to edit under any account or IP until your original block is removed. Edits by blocked users who are socking are not allowed to stand, as that defeats the purpose of the block, which is to keep you from editing. I suggest that you try hard to remember the password to your account. 331dot (talk) 08:29, 1 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Oppose unblock A bicylette says they "have not been editing or using wikipedia in nearly 5 years since 2018' when they were clearly editing via IP socks up to 2021 and then most recently this IP. If A bicylette sincerely sought an unblock they should have followed the proper procedure on their original user page, but instead chose to once again edit via an IP and only now having been caught out do they request an unblock. The unblock request is clearly insincere as A bicylette makes various accusations against me. Mztourist (talk) 03:19, 1 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
