RfA Voting

[edit]

Please do not vote in RfA's unless you have created an account. Thanks, --GeorgeMoney T·C 03:34, 3 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Crap. I was afraid that was going to happen. --69.145.123.171 03:35, 3 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, I enjoyed my vandalism. :P--Shanel § 05:52, 4 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Indeed...but you better not cross over to the dark side ;)--Shanel § 05:54, 4 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I wouldn't worry about the vote for deletion, seems like its just some vandal messing about with a spurious nomination. I've never thanked you for turning up at the article, but it's made my life much easier; I'd been patrolling it pretty much by myself for about 4 or 5 months. I hope you can stick with it for a bit cos I'm gonna be away for about 3 weeks in total in June/July, so it'll need someone to look after it! --Robdurbar 19:24, 4 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

HeHe...

[edit]

There are probably better ones out there, but I suppose its a good thing to have been blocked ~6 times, all incorrectly! 68.39.174.238 01:10, 6 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I'm not entirely sure that not using an edit summary is "vandalism", although it was an automated warning. 68.39.174.238 01:17, 6 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I noticed that, but didn't realize it was over an edit summary! 68.39.174.238 01:24, 6 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Do you have a Wikipedia username? (Respond on my talk page) Anonymous_anonymous_Have a Nice Day 22:22, 11 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I think you should seriously consider getting one, you'll regret not editing under it once you have it and editcountitis sets in. :D +Hexagon1 (t) 13:10, 12 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

The following are messages I had from my other IP address, kept here for reference.

Welcome!

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. Thank you for your contributions.

Currently, you are editing without a username. You can continue to do so as you are not required to log in to Wikipedia to read and write articles, however, logging in will result in a username being shown instead of your IP address (yours is 69.145.123.171/Archive01). Logging in does not require any personal details. There are many other benefits for logging in to Wikipedia. For now, if you are stuck, you can type {{helpme}} on this page and an experienced Wikipedian will be around to answer any questions you may have.

Please note these points:

  • Please respect others' copyrights; do not copy and paste the contents from webpages directly.
  • Please use a neutral point of view to edit the article; this is possibly the most important Wikipedia policy.
  • If you are testing, please use the Sandbox to do that.
  • Do not add unreasonable contents into any articles, such as: copyrighted texts, advertisement messages, and texts that are not related to that article. Both adding such unreasonable information and editing articles maliciously are considered

vandalism. A user who repeatedly vandalises articles will be blocked from editing.

The Wikipedia Tutorial is a good place to start learning about Wikipedia. If you have any questions, ask me on my Talk page – I will answer your questions as far as I can! Thank you again for contributing to Wikipedia.

Help has arrived

[edit]

You wanted some help, here I am! How can I help you? You can ask your questions right here, and I will respond.--Commander Keane 00:28, 25 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I see you've added the {{helpme}} tag. Can I help you with something? --Pilotguy (talk ¦ ) 00:28, 25 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Whew, already two responses... Wiki is quick. Anyway, I've found a vandal who continues to dismantle pages and will not stop (s)he has been warned many times, but always waits 24 hours to vandalise again. What exactly can I do here?--69.145.122.209 00:30, 25 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

What is the username or IP address of the vandal? I'll look into it for you. --Pilotguy (talk ¦ ) 00:32, 25 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

170.211.254.3 I don't know why the link refuses to work, but if you copy/paste it into the search thing, you get the page. Thanks, --69.145.122.209 00:33, 25 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Based on [1], this user hasn't vandalized in the last 24 hours, and therefore can't be blocked. I'll put it on a watchlist to watch for any and all edits done by that IP, and if any further vandlism occurs from it, it should be blocked. --Pilotguy (talk ¦ ) 00:38, 25 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks. That's been bugging me since I saw the Carlos Santana vandalism. --69.145.122.209 00:41, 25 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Gprime

[edit]

First, let me too encourage you to register.

Now, for deleting articles.

Criteria for Speedy Deletion. Basically if it's absolute nonsense.

Use Proposed deletion if the article won't go down without a fight in your judgement, use it first for the most part.

Now, if the PROD is opposed or you know there might be trouble (as I did with the Gprime article), you want to open up an article for deletion. Simply follow the three easy steps. Remember, wikipedia is not a democracy, votes are used for concensus. Happy ediitng! TKE 02:38, 30 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hey, thanks for the compliment. Hey it is just my job, like I said 1st of the April is clean up day for Shadow the Hedgehog article. And it ends till 7th of April. Good thing we have someone like you, who is more noticed in Grammar. Believe me, I do get confuse when using grammar, especially when it comes to using "as" & "has". I never knew as was present and has was for the past tense of have. Anyway, take care, and happy editing:P

Yep, I just noticed that... sorry, but I saw vandalism, I saw an IP, and I saw stereotypes. You should get an account though, as I see multiple others have asked you to do so too. Cheers, _-M o P-_ 02:32, 2 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Someday. As long as your IP doesn't change, thats all; but if it does and a troll gets a hand on it, things can get messy because we don't know whos behind the steering wheel. _-M o P-_ 02:37, 2 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Helpme

[edit]

I found a talk page with somebody's email in the edit summaries-how would I go about getting it removed?

You would ask an admin (ask on my talk page) to remove it (the process involves temporarily deleting the page). If you didn't know an admin you could ask at Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents.--Commander Keane 21:46, 13 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I assumed that the email was place maliciously. In this case it seems innocent, they want people to email them the solution. I don't think spam is going to be a problem. If you feel strongly about it (or the email owner does) I'll get rid of it, but it doesn't seem to be a big deal.--Commander Keane 21:55, 13 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Do you want me to create a subpage for you to store your signature, so whenever you want to use it just use {{subst:69.145.123.171/sig}}? And I can make you a watchlist, so you can use Special:Recentchangeslinked/User:69.145.123.171/Watchlist. Then, all you have to do is put pages on the list, and you can have your own watchlist. Also, do you want me to make you a userpage? And, I can also set you up a better status changer code. Also, what browser do you use? --GeorgeMoney T·C 18:34, 21 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I have created your signature. To use it do {{subst:User:69.145.123.171/sig}}. I have also created your watchlist. To use it, follow the instructions at User:69.145.123.171/Watchlist. I have also created a status changer for you. To change your status, click on the link that says "activity level" (note: the link is black, but it is still a link). Also, I am still working on your userpage. Also, do you want to use anything at User:GeorgeMoney/tricktemplates?--GeorgeMoney T·C 20:24, 21 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Speaking of html... I fixed your sig because it had HTML issues, so the version that I put in your subpage was a little different than the one you used before I made the subpage. I also fixed the image in the awards page. Also, are you the same person who tried to vote in ILP's rfa? Or, did your IP change, and you are a totally different user? Also, to see all your subpages, go here. Also, if you want to know what it feels like to be an admin, you can go to this wiki and I will make you one there: http://wiki.xyrael.net/mediawiki/index.php/Main_Page . I am not an admin on wikipedia, but I am one there. It is really fun. You can delete stuff and do cool things. --GeorgeMoney T·C 21:51, 21 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Registered accounts get the ability to run javascript which gets stored in their monobook.js file. You can see mine here. Lots of nice things like popup menus for user warnings, automation of Afd, copyvio tagging, and adding useful links to the menus on the left side of the page. --GraemeL (talk) 02:27, 22 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
