Information icon Hello, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. This is just a note to let you know that I've moved the draft that you were working on to Draft:Day of the Moron, from its old location at User:60sRefugee/sandbox. This has been done because the Draft namespace is the preferred location for Articles for Creation submissions. Please feel free to continue to work on it there. If you have any questions about this, you are welcome to ask me on my talk page. Thank you. Nathan2055talk - contribs 21:41, 6 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Your draft article, Draft:Day of the Moron

[edit]

Hello, 60sRefugee. It has been over six months since you last edited the Articles for Creation submission or Draft page you started, "Day of the Moron".

In accordance with our policy that Wikipedia is not for the indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace, the draft has been deleted. If you plan on working on it further and you wish to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion. An administrator will, in most cases, restore the submission so you can continue to work on it.

declined article submission

[edit]

I simply find the reasons cited for why my draft article was not accepted incomprehensible. I literally do not know what they are referring to. I'm completely dead in the water and have no idea how to even try to pursue this further; which is a shame because I had thought my contribution was worthwhile. ETA: and the suggested help features for new contributors lead me down an infinite rabbit hole of material to master. I am drowning in complexity. I am now wondering if I simply am not intelligent enough to do this.

Well, looking at the draft, I see that you gave a two-sentence intro (who wrote it, where it was published) and then gave nothing more than a plot summary. The singular reference is nothing more than a list of his works, which means it does nothing more than verify the book exists.
I don't think it's a case of being unintelligent, I just think sometimes it's easy to get into the weeds with some of these guidelines. The simplest way to explain it is that you need significant coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the topic. If you have these, then the book should be suitable for inclusion on Wikipedia. If you want more help, change the {{help me-helped}} back into a {{help me}}, stop by the Teahouse, or Wikipedia's live help channel, or the help desk to ask someone for assistance. Primefac (talk) 15:47, 7 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
