Thanks for your contributions!

[edit]

Hi, thanks so much for your contributions to figure skating-related pages! I really appreciate most of your contributions, but a tiny number have left me slightly confused. I've noticed that you've added pewter colours for some non-US 4th-place results, e.g. https://wiki.riteme.site/w/index.php?title=Elena_Radionova&type=revision&diff=857377966&oldid=857377938

However, I've never seen any confirmation that any country besides the United States actually distributes pewter medals.

Also, IMO we should try to keep results tables as narrow as possible, especially if the skater has four or more seasons of results and will probably continue for more seasons. For example, if adding "Champ." makes the table wider, then IMO it's better to leave it out. Please don't be offended by my comments! Your work is generally excellent and much appreciated! Please preserve alphabetical order

[edit]

Hi, as I've mentioned before, I appreciate your contributions but I've had to revert a number of your edits. Please:

  • preserve alphabetical order for competitions of equal importance
  • don't make results tables wider than necessary, e.g. by changing Seibt Memorial to Hellmut Seibt Memorial
  • don't change Gardena to Egna for results from years before the event was re-titled
  • the French GP has been re-titled many times, so GP "country name" (in this case, France) is acceptable for brevity but if a skater only competed when it was called Bompard, then Bompard doesn't need to be changed.
  • don't remove results or details (e.g. clarifications on novice categories), e.g.

https://wiki.riteme.site/w/index.php?title=Alexia_Paganini&type=revision&diff=860412744&oldid=857238419

  • Wikipedia prefers year ranges in the following format xxxx-xxxx (MOS:DATERANGE). They're sometimes shortened if space is limited but please don't use shorter forms if there's no need.
  • also, please read WP:NOPIPE, WP:REDLINK, and MOS:OVERLINK

Names of events

[edit]

Egna Spring Trophy was known as Gardena in the years that Leccardi competed there. https://wiki.riteme.site/w/index.php?title=Elisabetta_Leccardi&type=revision&diff=864608946&oldid=864608865 Hergilei (talk) 14:57, 20 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello. Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia.

When editing Wikipedia, there is a field labeled "Edit summary" below the main edit box. It looks like this:

I noticed your recent edit to Vasilisa Davankova does not have an edit summary. Please be sure to provide a summary of every edit you make, even if you write only the briefest of summaries. The summaries are very helpful to people browsing an article's history.

Edit summary content is visible in:

Please use the edit summary to explain your reasoning for the edit, or a summary of what the edit changes. You can give yourself a reminder to add an edit summary by setting Preferences → Editing → Tick Prompt me when entering a blank edit summary. Thanks! Please don't remove notable info from the lead

[edit]

At Alexandra Feigin, Sarah Feng, and TJ Nyman, you removed information from the lead section showing that the subject is notable enough for their own Wikipedia page (e.g. the fact that they competed in the final segment at ISU Championships) and replaced it with info that does not show notability according to WP:NSKATE. Please read that page and don't delete info until you've confirmed that it's not needed. Hergilei (talk) 20:53, 25 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I've mentioned this many times already...

[edit]

but please don't abbreviate if it's not needed! If a pair has competed together for only one season, it makes no sense to change 2018–19 → 18–19 or European Championships → Europeans. The results table is not overly wide at this point in their career! Hergilei (talk) 21:02, 25 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Please don't remove info that shows a skater's notability

[edit]

According to WP:NSKATE, skating in the final segment at an ISU Championships is an indication of notability so please stop removing this kind of information. Also, please don't:
