Hi, I noticed that you placed a vandalism warning template on this user's page. It's great that you have been reverting vandalism and warning users, but for future reference we place these messages on the user's talk page- otherwise they will not receive the "New Messages" banner. Also, with each new reverted vandalism we use a harsher message- this user would be due for a level four (Final Warning) template... Thanks again, l'aqúatique talktome 02:08, 23 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Ok, thanks for telling me, I'm still learning how this is exactly working :) I will now post a vandalism message on the user's talk page. 4drenalin3
No problem! When you reply to a message, you don't need to start a new section, just use colons (:) to indent and write your message underneath the old one, and don't forget to sign your name by typing four tildes, like this ~~~~.
I think you could really benefit from user adoption, wherein experienced editors "adopt" promising new users and teach them the ropes. I am currently adopting if you are interested. l'aqúatique talktome 19:20, 23 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Ok, I have applied for adopt-a-user :) 4drenalin3 (talk) 19:41, 23 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

TraxPlayer Hi, Thank you for undo the magic square page. I was trying to remove several vandalisme post but made an error. Can you help getting it back to this version ? http://wiki.riteme.site/w/index.php?title=Magic_square&oldid=172552951 —Preceding unsigned comment added by TraxPlayer (talkcontribs) 23:40, 24 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

4drenalin3- this was misplaced, I moved it for you. You can tell Traxplayer that there are no differences between the current revision of the page Magic Square and the diff provided. L'Aquatique talk 00:33, 25 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry

[edit]

I haven't written lately! I've been just swamped with work and semester finals. It seems like you are doing quite well, so I only have two bits of advice for you for now.

  1. If you are interested in vandal fighting, there are a couple add-ons that you can add to make your job easier. Twinkle is unbelievably helpful- it adds some buttons and automatically brings up the vandal's talk page then offers you a list of warning templates that you can pick from drop down menus. Friendly adds some additional templates for warning new users that are a little less bite-y. You can also download a program (Wikiguard for mac, Vandalproof for windows, and Vandalsniper for linux) that will monitor the RSS feed and allow you to watch new changes in real time.
  2. Take a look at what I have written at Sir Drance's talk page. He's my other adoptee, and is interested in graphic design. If you have questions about it, ask him first because I'd like him to practice! If you still don't understand, feel free to ask me.

I'll write again when I have time, but until then... Happy Holidays! l'Aquatique talk 06:40, 10 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

File permission problem with File:GameWirelogo.png

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:GameWirelogo.png. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file agreed to license it under the given license.

If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read the Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. —Bkell (talk) 02:24, 19 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Improper use of Current templates

[edit]

"It is not intended to be used to mark an article that merely has recent news articles about the topic; if it were, hundreds of thousands of articles would have this template."

This is one of those cases. Do not restore the template, or I may consider it vandalism. ViperSnake151  Talk  19:22, 24 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]
