Speedy deletion nomination of Matt Carthy

Deletion of Matt Carthy

This is a biographical page for a politician in Ireland. Please tell me how to make it more acceptable as a bio page. Sort of by definition, politicians do promote -- advice gratefully accepted.

I'll respond here, because that talk page is likely to be soon deleted, and you'd miss the advice. Yes, politicians do promote; that's how they get elected. But they don't use Wikipedia to do it. Biographies of politicians should discuss the subject's accomplishments and political activities, as verified by reliable sources. As Carthy is as yet only a candidate, he has yet to achieve any accomplishments or to have engaged in any significant political activities, so it is probably too soon to have an article about him.
