Documentation

[edit]

Clearly you are an expert on Carl McIntire. It would be nice, while you're editing here, to provide documentation for such hard-to-determine facts as that McIntire's grandparents were both missionaries in Oklahoma. Let's make this article something to be proud of.--John Foxe 09:46, 28 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

McIntire-Hotchkin genealogy--documentation for maternal grandparents

[edit]

Re documentation for the maternal grandparents in the Choctaw Nation:

NOTE: I am not sure what the technical form is for putting in footnotes correctly...as you will see at the References section of the article, where the footnote do not show up, but instead new numbers appear as if there as several more footnotes down there...

The Hotchkin Genealogy at http://www.hotchkingenealogy.com/

Search for these names at the home page via the Index, then go to the names in the alphabetical listing:

McIntire's mother is: Hettie Daughtery Hotchkin+ (29 Jan 1879 - 12 Dec 1955)

The maternal grandparents are Mary J. Semple (F) (17 July 1836 - 31 August 1917) and Henry W. Hotchkin (M)(1837 - 1887)

As you see, I've fixed the footnotes. Could you find documentation for McIntire's baptismal name as "Charles"? The Social Security Death Index has "Carl."--John Foxe 21:42, 1 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Photograph

[edit]

It strikes me that you may have access to a good family photograph that could be released from copyright protection and posted with this article.--John Foxe 21:41, 1 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Re photos: there are some good possibilities in the ICCC McIntire Memorial Book in 2005 which has 75 pages of photos--do you have access to that? 3petals 17:49, 2 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I don't, though I remember seeing it once. The picture of the newly wedded McIntires with motorcycle is striking because it's hard to imagine them riding it. The problem with those photos is that the book is copyrighted, and the picture would have to be pre-1926 to survive the Wikipedia posting process. These folks get pretty fussy about even fair-use photographs.
Whenever you've got time to come out and play, we'll try tackling the article again.--John Foxe 17:36, 17 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
