Birth Certificate

[edit]

I have been told to get a Birth Certificate for my Dear Mother, Mary Ellen Kearney, born 20th January 1916. I was told originally that she was born in a workhouse in Dublin, when I applied for my first Irish Passport, that the only name registered on that date was her mother, so that theft gave her the same name. No other records were found. Sadly she died on 23rd October 2007 in Kingston Hospital, in Surrey, ENGLAND. She was then bought up in Inneskerry, Co. Wicklow, but she never spoke about her upbringing, only that the lady was a wicked person. She would run to school, over fields etc. no shoes and little clothing. She never spoke about herself, and as I was her only child, with no father on certificate. I too never asked her anything, the same as my upbringing in a Convent, you never asked private questions. I would and could never asked for a kinder, stronger Mother in the world.Always worked 3-4 jobs to get money to keep and eat. Never went without, no luxuries and all home cooked fresh food, so it lasted longer. KOBEY202 (talk) 15:00, 26 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
