Welcome!
[edit]Hello! I noticed your contributions and wanted to welcome you to the Wikipedia community. I hope you like it here and decide to stay. You are welcome to edit anonymously; however, creating an account is free and has several benefits (for example, the ability to create pages, upload media and edit without one's IP address being visible to the public).
As you get started, you may find this short tutorial helpful:
Alternatively, the contributing to Wikipedia page covers the same topics.
If you have any questions, we have a friendly space where experienced editors can help you here:

Happy editing! JW 1961 Talk 19:51, 9 October 2020 (UTC)
Hi and just to let you know why your pending edit was reverted on the above article. Per MOS:US either US or U.S. can be used but the article has to be consistent with one or the other, feel free to change again but also change at least one other instance of "US" towards the end of the article. Thank you JW 1961 Talk 19:53, 9 October 2020 (UTC)
- Actually, you should not "feel free to change again". According to WP:STYLEVAR: "When either of two styles are [sic] acceptable it is inappropriate for a Wikipedia editor to change from one style to another unless there is some substantial reason for the change. ... enforcing optional style in a bot-like fashion without prior consensus, is never acceptable". I have been trying for months to contact you, and have left multiple warnings about this on talk pages of your previous IP addresses, including a "final warning" at User talk:2601:601:E03:EBC0:F523:C116:6E17:9570, but you seem to be unaware of your talk pages. Unfortunately, Wikipedia's talk page system doesn't work well in this case, and I understand that you are genuinely trying to help improve Wikipedia, but since you are unable to communicate for whatever reason, I've requested that you be temporarily blocked from editing until you respond. Sorry about that. If blocked, you'll only need to make a brief acknowledgement in order to be unblocked. You can find a discussion of this at Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents#Uncommunicative helper. Although it's not required, I'd highly recommend getting a user account to avoid these problems in the future... thanks for your understanding. --IamNotU (talk) 11:09, 11 October 2020 (UTC)
This is the discussion page for an IP user, identified by the user's IP address. Many IP addresses change periodically, and are often shared by several users. If you are an IP user, you may create an account or log in to avoid future confusion with other IP users. Registering also hides your IP address. |
