Request reason:

I'm not sure if I am doing this right since I dont use Wikipedia hardly at all. I commented on a post about SS articles that was also mentioned about a week ago at the National Archives Citizen Archives page here https://www.archives.gov/citizen-archivist/missions Mark Yerger, an SS historian was also a citizen archivist and it was mentioned he had been brought up on Wikipedia. When I came back to check on the discussion the page tonight it was closed and my comments were crossed out. I then saw a notice on this page that it had been blocked. I dont know anything about this or the person mentioned. I was just commenting on the page since I knew Mark for many years before he passed away. Thank you.

Decline reason:

If you know nothing about the reason for the block(though the banned user seems to have edited in a similar area as you), then you should request an account at WP:ACC. 331dot (talk) 09:15, 4 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Note: this is quite obviously OberRanks. For the record:

  • [1] in August 2020, an IP from the same geolocation and provider as this one posts on Talk:OberRanks, claiming OberRanks was dead
  • [2] on 30 September, an IP from the same /64 block as the present one (i.e. almost certainly from the same end-user address) posts on ANI, showing intimate knowledge of the OberRanks case, again claiming he was dead, and complaining about alleged offline harassment against him.
  • [3] in November 2020, IPs from the same /64 block are active at General of the Armies, trying to prevent some of OberRanks' fraudulent content from being removed, revealing alleged information about their own real-life situation very similar to what OberRanks used to claim about himself, and making very similar arguments (basically amounting to: "I can vouch for this unsourced content because I once worked at institution XY and saw it there")
  • [4] The present IP posts at an AfD trying to prevent OberRanks material from deletion.
  • This page: IP claims they don't know OberRanks, adding another utterly implausible lie about how they got to know about the AfD.

Nothing more to say, really. Fut.Perf. 09:46, 4 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]
