[edit]Hello, I'm Jim1138. I noticed that you made a change to an article, Reuben sandwich, but you didn't provide a source. I’ve removed it for now, but if you’d like to include a citation to a reliable source and re-add it, please do so! If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. Jim1138 (talk) 07:27, 2 February 2017 (UTC)
- If this is a shared IP address, and you did not make the edits, consider creating an account for yourself or logging in with an existing account so you can avoid further irrelevant notices.
Please refrain from making unconstructive edits to Wikipedia, as you did with this edit to Reuben sandwich. Your edits appear to constitute vandalism and have been reverted or removed. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. Repeated vandalism can result in the loss of editing privileges. Thank you. Jim1138 (talk) 07:33, 2 February 2017 (UTC)
- (Regarding your message on Jim1138's page): Internet service providers assign IP addresses to their customers, and some of these are temporary. These are called dynamic IPs. Usually, this is why some people get messages about other people's edits. However, your IP address is static, which means that it is the IP address that you used last month. Someone using this IP address did make an inappropriate edit last month. It is still possible that someone is connecting to your wifi without you knowing it, but we can't really distinguish between anonymous users, just their IP addresses (see WP:BROTHER for more information). This is the discussion page for an IP user, identified by the user's IP address. Many IP addresses change periodically, and are often shared by several users. If you are an IP user, you may create an account or log in to avoid future confusion with other IP users. Registering also hides your IP address. |
