[edit]

Hi and welcome! I noticed your edit requests to T.I. and Jeezy. I must tell you that edit requests should be more direct - you should say which image should be added. Additionally, if you pick one, it should be "freely licensed" - that is, the creator of the image allows others to distribute, modify and even use for commercial purposes, since Wikipedia is a free encyclopedia (not just in the meaning that it has no cost). It only uses copyrighted images when necessary, such as album covers on articles about albums.

These freely licensed images used by Wikipedia are mostly stored on Wikipedia's sister project Wikimedia Commons (commons.wikimedia.org) and often organized into categories, such as Category:T.I. and Category:Young Jeezy. You may point to an image on these categories that would be better than the current one on the article, or an image from, say, a YouTube video with the text "Creative Commons Attribution license (reuse allowed)" in blue on the video description. There's an option on YouTube search to filter through "Creative Commons" videos; make sure these videos are posted by the official channels.

I know this is a lot, but Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. If you have any more questions, feel free to ask the teahouse, the media copyright questions noticeboard, or my talk page. Thank you and merry Christmas! ObserveOwl 🎄 (talk) 12:38, 22 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]
