Catch vs kill

[edit]

Hi. You can catch a whale without killing it and kill a whale without catching it. For example, a ship could find a dead whale killed by another vessel. Or it could kill a whale but it could sink. Thus the whale would be dead but not caught. This is why the terms "take" and "caught" are used instead of "kill". OM2003 (talk) 21:50, 17 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
