- There are no active blocks on this IP, range or otherwise, nor has it ever been blocked. —Jeremy v^_^v Bori! 01:10, 5 October 2018 (UTC)
This is wrong. There is a range block affecting my IP address: https://imgur.com/a/4zWtHsJ If it helps, an edit from 2012 by another person using this IP was rejected by Materialscientist. I accidentally deleted what they posted here.
- Why would an IPv6 rangeblock affect an IPv4 IP address? —Jeremy v^_^v Bori! 01:38, 5 October 2018 (UTC)
I have no clue. Yet I cannot create an account or edit. Have you looked at the image I linked?
- I did, which begs the question: Why the heck would a block for IPv6 be affecting an IPv4 address? The two IP versions are mutually exclusive. Unless, of course, you're using an open/anonymising proxy that tunnels thru an IPv6 address... —Jeremy v^_^v Bori! 01:58, 5 October 2018 (UTC)
- I think there's probably some x-forwarded-for muckery going on here. IP, have you tried using a browser that isn't Opera? --AntiCompositeNumber (talk) 02:02, 5 October 2018 (UTC)
I successfully made an account using Chrome, and I can edit using it on Opera as well. Thanks for your help
This is the discussion page for an IP user, identified by the user's IP address. Many IP addresses change periodically, and are often shared by several users. If you are an IP user, you may create an account or log in to avoid future confusion with other IP users. Registering also hides your IP address. |
