Information icon Hello, I'm Mattythewhite. I noticed that you added or changed content in an article, Arthur Melo, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so. You can have a look at the tutorial on citing sources. If you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Mattythewhite (talk) 17:47, 24 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

The Boss Baby

[edit]

Hello new user! I see you already have links to the sandbox, WP:teahouse, and most importantly the manual of style in your welcome message - I would HIGHLY recommend reading/using these. They were were a great help to me when I first started. Especially, I would read the feature film plot section of the manual of style, first. I made this same error when I first joined - I mistook Wikipedia for Wikia/Fandom, where you have to put as much detail as possible to character and plot summaries. Wikipedia is not that, however, it is an encyclopedia. When you edited The Boss Baby, you added much extra detail which is good for someone wanting to find all the extended details of the film but bad for the sake of a concise, easily readable encyclopedia article. I would find the Boss Baby article on Fandom and see if the edits you put on this article have been made on it. If they haven't yet, that would be the place to put them. Summaries here are to contain only basics of info and are not to exceed 700 words (UNLESS consensus has been reached on the article's talk page that it calls for it, say in the case of a 3 hour long epic, but some of these can even be shortened). Here is a tool to make sure plot summaries don't exceed 700 words - hit "preview" so the links and extra words not going to actually show up in the article itself disappear, instead of "Save" at the end of your edit. Copy-paste the plot summary from the preview into https://wordcounter.net/, and then see what it says. That can also check your spelling and grammar while you're at it. It's been a great help to me. Thanks and again welcome! EEBuchanan (talk) 14:38, 23 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
