Information icon Hello, I'm Luke10.27. I wanted to let you know that one or more of your recent contributions to Expulsion of Jews from Spain have been undone because they did not appear constructive. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. If you have any questions, you can ask for assistance at the Teahouse or the Help desk. Thanks.

While I may be mistaken, your use of the phrase "on a completely unrelated note" seems to be sarcastic, claiming that the expulsion of the Jews brought about the Golden Age. Antisemitism is not welcome on Wikipedia. I apologize if I am mistaken, but I cannot see any other reasonable interpretation of your edit. Luke10.27 (talk) 05:38, 12 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

You are mistaken, it's completely unrelated that the Spanish Golden Age began the year the expelled Jewish people from Spain, it's a coincidence and only evil people would dare to think that !
Every single time the jews were kicked out of a country it was unfair and they were pure victims who are the only ever on the right side of history and to suggest otherwise is facsist hate speech and thise people should be locked up with no trial. 2001:8003:E144:6F01:1469:CED3:D0B8:95 (talk) 05:53, 12 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
As a part of a process of political centralization (which includes significantilly religious and legal homogenization), the expulsion of Jews from Spain indeed be connected to the beginning of the Spanish Golden Age. Of course, 1492 is also the year that the Reconquista finally ended (the fall of Granada), and of the discovery of the Americas by Columbus. But, remember that a "Golden Age" is a posteriori academic concept, so the year it begins is a historiographical convention.
I would finally argue that there is no intrinsic connection between "golden ages" and the absence or presence of Jews in a any country.
The Spanish Golden Age happened after Jews were expelled, the Dutch Golden Age happened after Jews fleeing the Iberian Peninsula were recieved there, helping the Dutch enter the Sugar and Slave trade which were previously a monopoly of the Iberian nations.
