[edit]Hello, I'm Macaddct1984. I wanted to let you know that one or more of your recent contributions to Thumb sucking have been undone because they appeared to be promotional. Advertising and using Wikipedia as a "soapbox" are against Wikipedia policy and not permitted; Wikipedia articles should be written objectively, using independent sources, and from a neutral perspective. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about Wikipedia. Thank you. MacAddct1984 (talk | contribs) 17:12, 31 October 2023 (UTC)

- Ok thank you
- Why is my book not allowed when my competitor books are? 2.98.246.14 (talk) 18:39, 31 October 2023 (UTC)
- Several points.
- First, and most importantly as you speak of "competitors", I strongly suggest looking through WP:COI and WP:COIE. Violations of these policies will result in a ban.
- Second, see WP:OTHERCONTENT. Articles receive a lot of edits and bad ones can stick around just as well as good ones. Interested parties can slip their own material in, sometimes it gets caught, sometimes it doesn't.
- I've removed the books, as it was unsourced and seemed like an advertisement. This is the first time I've come across the article - I would recommend you take your issues to the article's talk page while disclosing your COI at the same time. -- MacAddct1984 (talk | contribs) 19:04, 31 October 2023 (UTC)
- Several points.
- I have just checked an the link for TGuards does then take you to an internal link but this is to a brand "TGuard is the brand name for a medical device used to stop chronic thumb sucking among children and young adults"
- this brand can be purchased to help with thumb sucking.
- Thumbsie® is a registered brand that can help with thumb sucking. Why can one brand be mentioned but not another? 2.98.246.14 (talk) 19:01, 31 October 2023 (UTC)
