BC vs. BCE

[edit]

Hi! Just so you know, BC and BCE are both valid methods of referring to years before year zero, and both are used on wikipedia. There's usually no reason to change between them in an article, see WP:BCE. Thanks! crh23 (talk) 10:06, 8 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, 194.187.235.250. Did you read the guideline WP:BCE (also known as WP:ERA) mentioned above by crh23? If you believe the era style needs to be changed in an article, the guideline includes a specific procedure that you should follow. This involves seeking consensus on the talk page before making the change, and is designed to avoid pointless edit wars based on editors' personal preferences. Your reasons for the edit, as expressed in edit summaries, have varied widely from "Removed typo" to "BC is widely understood ...". So, please, follow the guideline if you still wish to make this edit: explain on Talk:Tetanus why the change should be made for this article, and obtain consensus before editing. Thank you. September 2023

[edit]

Information icon Welcome to Wikipedia, and thank you for your contributions. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, please note that there is a Manual of Style that should be followed to maintain a consistent, encyclopedic appearance. Deviating from this style, as you did in Stiftung, disturbs uniformity among articles and may cause readability or accessibility problems. Please take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. The Herald (Benison) (talk) 13:10, 26 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

If this is a shared IP address, and you did not make the edits referred to above, consider creating an account for yourself or logging in with an existing account so that you can avoid further irrelevant notices.
