Your article
[edit]Hey there, and welcome to Wikipedia! I'm just letting you know that I moved the article you recently created into your user-space: User:15jeffreyc/Koninklijke Nederlandse Zwembond. I did this because the page as it is isn't quite ready to be a full article. However, I notice that you're creating an article about that topic in your sandbox; I imagine you were planning on copying that in? While I guess it's all right to copy stuff from one article to another if you're the only one to have contributed to it, we generally don't do "copy-and-paste" moves. Instead, "autoconfirmed" users (those whose accounts are four days old and have ten edits) can move entire pages, even the histories, from one title to another. This keeps the log of who edited it cohesive, which is needed for our licensing purposes. If you need help with anything, feel free to drop me a line either here or at my talk page. Thanks! - Yes I was originally planning to work in my sandbox and copy my work from there. I have taken parts of the Dutch KNZB article and translated parts of it into English. I believe that is OK right? I will now continue to work on the Wikipedia article in my user-space (link that you have provided) Thanks! 15jeffreyc (talk) 03:13, 9 May 2013 (UTC)
- Wikipedia is licensed under CC-BY-SA (or at least enwiki is), which basically means all the editors still "own" their work but they've given anyone anywhere the right to use it for any reason, provided the user recognizes them as the authors. So next time you edit the mainspace article, you should include the full link to the Dutch page in your wp:edit summary, and say something like "Page translated from a version on the Dutch WIkipedia at http://whateverthelinkis." Does that make sense? Ignatzmice•talk 03:33, 9 May 2013 (UTC)
Orphaned non-free media (File:KNZB Federation Logo.gif)
[edit]Thanks for uploading File:KNZB Federation Logo.gif. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Hazard-Bot (talk) 04:23, 11 May 2013 (UTC)
