Northeast Africa

[edit]

I still think it would be best for you to secure consensus for these changes, but for now, I relent. Let's see what other editors have to say. El_C 09:42, 22 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

There's a respected, peer-reviewed academic journal of Northeast African studies. Perhaps we should use their definition of Northeast Africa [1]. 142.116.178.22 (talk) 09:44, 22 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
As mentioned on the article talk page: fair enough. If no other objections are made by other editors, I will lift mine, and your changes will become consensus by virtue of WP:SILENCE. El_C 09:50, 22 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Please post a rationale on the article talk page, or this will keep going in circles. There are different definitions for these terms so we can not always automatically synthesize sources. But maybe there is no problem except for the poor communication?--Andrew Lancaster (talk) 21:28, 29 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

  • I just did. Haber, the most recent source, says E-M35's earliest origin was 47 kya, and northeastern Africa. Trombetta is a few years older, but even it states that E-M215 split off (the node) by 47 kya. Trombetta says E-M215 and E-M35 both originated in "eastern Africa", "northern east Africa" or the "northern Horn of Africa". Northeast Africa is a term to simplify this. 142.116.178.22 (talk) 22:02, 29 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
