Information icon Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. When you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion (but never when editing articles), please be sure to sign your posts. There are two ways to do this. Either:

  1. Add four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment; or
  2. With the cursor positioned at the end of your comment, click on the signature button ( or ) located above the edit window.

This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is necessary to allow other editors to easily see who wrote what and when.

Thank you. --SineBot (talk) 04:47, 19 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, I'm BracketBot. I have automatically detected that your edit to Martineau family may have broken the syntax by modifying 1 "()"s. If you have, don't worry: just edit the page again to fix it. If I misunderstood what happened, or if you have any questions, you can leave a message on my operator's talk page.

List of unpaired brackets remaining on the page:

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, BracketBot (talk) 05:36, 19 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

If you edit without an account, your IP address (123.2.36.6) is used to identify you instead.

We hope that you choose to become a Wikipedian and create an account. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, or you can click here to ask for help on your talk page, and a volunteer should respond shortly. Welcome!

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia!

Someone using this IP address, 123.2.36.6, has made edits to John Hussey, 1st Baron Hussey of Sleaford which do not conform to our policies and therefore have been reverted. For more information on this, see Wikipedia's policies on vandalism and limits on acceptable additions. If you'd like to experiment with the syntax, please do so in the sandbox rather than in articles. If you did not do this, you may wish to consider getting a username to avoid confusion with other editors.

You don't have to log in to read or edit pages on Wikipedia, but creating an account is quick, free, requires no personal information, and has many benefits. Without a username, your IP address is used to identify you.

Some good links for newcomers are:

Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and a timestamp. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or place {{helpme}} on your talk page and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions.

Again, welcome! Operator873CONNECT 02:36, 1 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Warning icon Please stop your disruptive editing. If you continue to vandalize Wikipedia, as you did at John Hussey, 1st Baron Hussey of Sleaford, you may be blocked from editing. - In this edit you deliberately falsified the wording of the quote. You had previously added the URL so you were able to read the ref, but you deliberately changed the quote to wording that was not in the ref. A quote is a quote; you must not include your own interpretation and pretend that it is part of the quote. --David Biddulph (talk) 05:36, 1 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]
