Proposed deletion of Visionaray

[edit]

The article Visionaray has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Non-notable software package. Search turns up basically nothing in terms of news, books or web sources.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Just a note

[edit]

Hello: just a note to follow up on the above deletion notice. In order for articles to remain on Wikipedia, they have to meet notability criteria. See WP:NOTABILITY. This means there have to be relaibale sources that mention the software: in books, in the news, or in significant publications. I could not find any for this software, so I've nominated it for deletion.HappyValleyEditor (talk) 07:39, 19 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Help with an article

[edit]

Hello -Ergo!

My Name is Samson, and i was hoping you could help me with a project. i am trying to find copyright information for a project. i am trying to find copyright information for a picture of Janina Cibienė, a writer/poet who lived in Anykščiai, Lithuania. the picture is located Here and it would be helpful if you could find if it is copyright free

thankyou Cloaker416 (talk) 00:25, 1 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@Cloaker416:, I suppose you can write an email to the organization (info@anykstenai.lt, anykstenai@gmail.com)? I can help in translating the text to Lithuanian. -Ergo (talk) 21:52, 1 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@-Ergo:, That would be amazing, i guess i will write an email and talk to you once i am finished. thank you, you are very kind. Cloaker416 (talk) 00:10, 2 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Hello! I have finished drafting the email:

Hello Anykštėnai government.

I am asking if the pictures on your webpage http://www.anykstenai.lt/?pg=naujienos2&nj=1375&arch=1 are free to use under copyright law. i was hoping to use them on Vikipedija if you could respond to me that would be much appreciated.

Thanks, Samson

Thankyou again for doing this for me, we are making wikipedia better one step at a time! Cloaker416 (talk) 02:44, 2 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@Cloaker416:, I'll post translation in a day or two. Sorry for late response. -Ergo (talk) 05:40, 8 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Hey again! I just am wondering when you are going to post that translation, you don't have to post it, just tell me if you aren't going to. Thanks!! Cloaker416 (talk) 00:27, 20 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@Cloaker416: Hey, sorry for that, completly forgot. Here you are. Changed content a bit, hope that's ok. Let me know if it's not.

Lauksiu atsakymo.

Su pagarba,

Samson

Hello Anykštėnai World Community!

I have a question about the following photos on your website: http://www.anykstenai.lt/?pg=naujienos2&nj=1375&arch=1. The question is, can I use one of them, or even a few, on the Wikipedia portal to write about people depicted in the photos? I.e. whether the public use / distribution of these pictures is allowed? The Wikipedia community has a very serious attitude towards content copyright, so it's important to know about the use of photos. Will wait for the answer.

Kind regards,

Samson
