Architecture of Africa - new AID collaboration

none|50px| Thank you for your support of the Article Improvement Drive.
This week Architecture of Africa was selected to be improved to featured article status.
Hope you can help…

Hi. I see that you are from Indonesia and that you are interested in films. Wikipedia lacks good information about Indonesian Cinema. I added stubs about Barry Prima, Suzzanna and Rapi Films but my knowledge is limited. If you have more historical knowledge about Indonesian cinema, it might interest you that the article Cinema of Indonesia is currently requested. (Entheta 15:25, 1 February 2006 (UTC))

"Safe Sex"

The IP 64.12.116.198 has reverted my contributions to the "Safe Sex" article, most of which were an attempt to make it more neutral and get it away from the whole "Use a condom" stance. If you could look it over, and revert it if necessary it would be most appreciated. Chooserr 00:49, 2 February 2006 (UTC)

RfA Thanks!

left|80px Okay, this is perhaps a bit overdue, but thank-you for your support in my recent RfA! I passed with a final vote count consensus of (82/1/0), which was a lot of support that I really appreciate. I'll try to live up to the expectations; and on that note, if there's ever something I do wrong (or don't do right), please spit in my general direction. Cheers! --PeruvianLlama(spit) 05:31, 4 February 2006 (UTC)

Participant alert regarding Wikiproject on Advertising

The Wikiproject No Ads, created as a backlash against the Answers.com deal, has served an important function in providing a space for users to express their disagreement with the Foundation proposal. While the current controversies about userboxes raise questions about political and social advocacy on Wikipedia, there should be greater flexibility regarding advocacy about Wikipedia in the Wikipedia namespace. Reported and linked by Slashdot and other press sources as a unique and spontaneous occurence in Wikipedia history, it has apparently had some impact as, despite being scheduled to begin in January, not a peep has been heard about the trial and proposed sponsored link since the deal's controversial announcement months ago. Currently, however, there is an attempt to delete the project or move it off Wikipedia altogether. Since the Foundation has provided no additional information and has not attempted to answer the specific questions that participants in the project raised, it is unclear if the Answers.com deal has been abandoned or simply delayed. Until the situation becomes more clear, I believe the group should still have a place in the Wikipedia namespace. Sincerely, Tfine80 00:19, 10 February 2006 (UTC)

Image Tagging for Image:Jambi_Indonesia.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Jambi_Indonesia.jpg. The image page currently doesn't specify who created the image, so the copyright status is therefore unclear. If you have not created the image yourself then you need to indicate why we have the right to use the image on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the image yourself then you should also specify where you found it, i.e., in most cases link to the website where you got it, and the terms of use for content from that page.

If the image also doesn't have a copyright tag then you must also add one. If you created/took the picture then you can use {{GFDL}} to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the image qualifies under Wikipedia's fair use guidelines, please read fair use, and then use a tag such as {{Non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use. If you want the image to be deleted, tag it as {{db-unksource}}.

If you have uploaded other images, please check that you have specified their source and copyright tagged them, too. You can find a list of image pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any unsourced and untagged images will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion.

  1. Posting cut+paste statements, is not a good way to get through to someone. Try talking to them like a person. Not like a machine. I'll never respond positively when I am treated this way.
  2. Don't tell wikipedians to do anything, this is a wiki. People do as much or as little as they want. With that being the cause, they should never be told that they need to do anything.
  3. The said image is EASILY findable via google image search, you will see about a thousand of them. Instead of ordering others around (which you do not have the authority to do), make the effort to find the necessary information yourself. --MateoP 01:07, 17 March 2006 (UTC)

Salam .... Halo drew.... Saya menambahkan artikel seputar Sirkuit Sentul baik halamam en. maupun halaman id.

I've reinserted the external link to the review of the film, "The Myth". I'm not sure I understand why it was removed. Does "nn" stand for "non-neutral"? That's my guess but if it's the case.... a review is non-neutral of course. It is an evaluation, so it is necessarily the expression of someone's opinions and . Besides, it is an external comment. So shouldn't it be read as such? A lot of entries have external links to "non-neutral" reviews. All, non-neutral. Sincerely. --Mursaatmesmer 22:15, 25 March 2006 (UTC)

Thanks for uploading Image:Abdul Haris Nasution.jpg. I notice the 'image' page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you have not created this media yourself then there needs to be an argument why we have the right to use the media on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the media yourself then it needs to be specified where it was found, i.e., in most cases link to the website where it was taken from, and the terms of use for content from that page.

If the media also doesn't have a copyright tag then one should be added. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media qualifies as fair use, consider reading fair use, and then use a tag such as {{Non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

Hi Drew, would it be possible to accept my article on Savu? I admit that it comes from raijua.com. However, I am still the author, which I think means that I can assign copyright to Wikipedia. Hi Drew - I've seen you around a number of the Indonesia related pages. You may have noticed i updated over 100 pages changing "Bahasa Indonesia" to "Indonesian". However, I left the links as {Bahasa Indonesia|Indonesian}. The only reason i am telling you this is that "bahasa Indonesia" redirects to "Indonesian Language" anyway - so you don't need to change these links as you did on the Jakarta page. Up to you what you do - but i am just trying to save you some time. Cheers --Merbabu 04:33, 31 July 2006 (UTC)

Xuan Zang (fictional version)

Please do not delete the link to Xuan Zang's character profile, as it contains highly detailed information that I feel sure anyone interested in Xuan Zang would benefit from. It is not spam. Please read the character profile to confirm this.

The same goes for Zhu Ba Jie's and Sha Wu Jing's character profiles. The profiles go into much more detail than the Wikipedia article and are more comprehensive and organized.

IMPORTANT: The reason I am adding links and not content is because the Wikipedia format does NOT allow me to organize the information in a manner that will make it much more easier for readers to read and comprehend. It is also useful if readers just want to skim through the upper parts to get to the information they want.

Again, please do not delete those links.

I refer to your claim that I was guilty of "linkspam" on the article Church of the Holy Family, Singapore. If you check the article's history, you will discover that all I did was to edit a poorly formatted link to make it appear better. While I appreciate your zeal to maintain Wikipedia's integrity, please do not make it your personal crusade against users you consider "n00bs". It saddens me that even the Indonesia article is not a featured article. What do you think about that? Oh, have you checked the new Portal:Indonesia? Looking forward to your reply. Take care and cheers -- Imoeng 11:06, 11 August 2006 (UTC)

Program Feature: To-Do List
The Esperanza To-Do List is a place where you may list any request, big or small, for assistance. If you need help with archiving your usertalk, for example, all you need to do is list it here and somebody will help you out. Likewise, if you need help with some area of editing on Wikipedia, list it here! Again, any matter, trivial or not, can be placed on this page. However, all matters listed on this page must not be of an argumentative nature. You do not need to be a member of Esperanza (or this program) to place or fulfill requests on this page. If you don't have any requests, consider coming by and fulfilling a few! This program has not been very active, but has lots of potential!
What's New?
In order to help proposed programs become specific enough to make into full-fledged programs, the In development section of the proposals page has been created. Proposals that are promising, but need to be organized in more detail are listed here. Please take a look at what is there, and help the proposals turn into programs.
To improve both the layout and text of the front page, in an attempt to clarify the image of Esperanza, the front page is going to have some redesigning take place. Please take your creative minds to Wikipedia:Esperanza/Front page redesign to brainstorm good ideas.
Many thanks to MiszaBot, courtesy of Misza13, for delivering the newsletter.
  1. In order to make sure all users who join Esperanza are welcomed, a list of volunteers who are willing to welcome new Esperanzians is at Wikipedia:Esperanza/Members#Esperanza_welcomers. Please add yourself if you are interested; we want to make sure all new Esperanza members are welcomed!
  2. The In development section of the proposals page has been created.
  3. Proposals page: Some proposals have been moved to the aforementioned "In development" section, some have been left as a proposal, and others have been archived. For those proposals that were a good idea but didn't necessarily constitute a program, General Esperanzial Actions has been created.
  4. Two small pieces of charter reform will be decided on in a straw poll at Wikipedia talk:Esperanza/Governance. One involves filling the position of any councillors who may leave, the other involves reforming the charter.
  5. Until cooperation with the Kindness Campaign is better defined, it remains as a proposed program.
  6. There is a page for discussing the front page redesign.

Although having the newsletter appear on everyone's userpage is desired, this may not be ideal for everyone. If, in the future, you wish to receive a link to the newsletter, rather than the newsletter itself, you may add yourself to Wikipedia:Esperanza/Newsletter/Opt Out List.

Welcome to Esperanza!

right Welcome, *drew, to Esperanza! As you might know, all the Esperanzians share one important goal: the success of this encyclopedia. Within that, we then attempt to strengthen the community bonds, and be the "approachable" side of the project. All of our ideals are held in the Charter, the governing document of the association.

Now that you are a member you should read the guide to what to do now or you may be interested in some of our programs. A quite important program is Stressbusters, which seeks to support editors who have encountered any stress from their Wikipedia events, and are seeking to leave the project. So far, Esperanza can be credited with the support and retention of several users. We will send you newsletters to keep you up to date. Also, we have a calendar of special events, member birthdays, and other holidays that you can add to and follow.

In addition to these projects, several more missions of Esperanza are in development, and are currently being created at Esperanza/Proposals.

If you have any other questions, concerns, comments, or general ideas, Esperanzian or otherwise, know that you can always contact Natalya by email or talk page. Consider introducing yourself at the Esperanza talk page! Alternatively, you could communicate with fellow users via our IRC channel, #wikipedia-esperanza (which is also good for a fun chat or two :). If you're new to IRC, you may find help at an IRC Tutorial. I thank you for joining Esperanza, and look forward to working with you in making Wikipedia a better place to work!
