[edit]On 16 November 2017, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Khufiyya, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that Khufiyya (shrine complex pictured) is the oldest of the four Sufi orders established in China? [edit]Thank you for your work updating the subordinate units of the 83rd Group Army to reflect the April 2017 reorganization!
I am curious about the other Group Armies as well. Where did you get your information on the brigades, and are you planning to update the 76th, 77th, 80th, 81st, and 82nd?

Viscounts of Zhao/Han/etc
[edit]Hi there, I noticed that you've created pages for the heads of Zhao where you title and call them "Viscount XXX of Zhao". The 'Zi' in their names are actually not ranks of nobility, but posthumous names. For example, Feizi of Qin is not the Viscount Fei of Qin. You can see a discussion in Chinese on Zhihu here. I suggest using, for example, 'Xuanzi of Zhao', as the naming convention. I'm also happy to help out. Hanfresco (talk) 01:00, 19 May 2018 (UTC)
- Great! It'll take some work to make all the changes, but I'm glad about the agreement. Hanfresco (talk) 19:53, 20 May 2018 (UTC)
- @Hanfresco: The "zi" of the Spring and Autumn states are sometimes translated as "viscount", because they were lords of their own fiefs called Han, Zhao, Wei, Zhi, etc. This is different from the case of Feizi. It's not common to translate them this way, but it is done by such notable scholars as KC Chang and Sarah Allan in The Formation of Chinese Civilization: An Archaeological Perspective. That being said, I agree that we should refer to them using their personal names whenever known. -Zanhe (talk) 00:05, 1 July 2018 (UTC)

DYK for Xu Yingkui
[edit]On 5 July 2018, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Xu Yingkui, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that during the Boxer Rebellion, Xu Yingkui collaborated with other high-ranking Chinese officials to defy the declaration of war made by the Qing imperial court on Western countries? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Xu Yingkui. You are welcome to check how many page hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, Xu Yingkui), and it may be added to the statistics page if the total is over 5,000. Request for help with Chinese
[edit]Hi, you may remember me from Talk:Reiwa period. I've been slowly adding information (maybe a bit too slavishly and excessively) from the Japanese and other Wikipedias into the Russian article ru:Рэйва. I want to mention Xue Yuanchao's s:zh:諫蕃官仗內射生疏 because it has the phrase "時惟令月,景淑風和" with translation of the title, but my amateur understanding of Japanese 漢字 isn't sufficient to figure out what the meaning of the title "諫蕃官仗內射生疏" is, nor what the work is about enough to say which genre it belongs to... Since you are good with Literary Chinese, I want to ask for your help. I pretty much need to know what the title roughly means, and which genre it can be pinned under so that it can be mentioned properly. Best regards. Draco argenteus (talk) 11:14, 9 April 2019 (UTC)
- Many thanks! That was educational, to say the least. Also, if you want to add that information here on enwiki then you can go right ahead, since I don't really do much here. Draco argenteus (talk) 13:21, 9 April 2019 (UTC)
