Kirkuk

[edit]

Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. Please note that your recent edits on Kirkuk aren't helpful. The infobox field asks for a country. Kurdistan is not a county but an autonomous region in the country of Iraq. Kirkuk is also not part of Iraqi Kurdistan. Even the KRG recognizes this. Kirkuk's official status is still uncertain even if the Kurds hold it. Until this recent conflict is settled Kirkuk is part of the country of Iraq. We don't for example say that Mosul is part of an Islamic State because that conflict is still going on. ~ Zirguezi 22:17, 2 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Edit warning on Kirkuk article

[edit]

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.

Please be particularly aware that Wikipedia's policy on edit warring states:

  1. Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made.
  2. Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.

In particular, editors should be aware of the three-revert rule, which says that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. While edit warring on Wikipedia is not acceptable in any amount and can lead to a block, breaking the three-revert rule is very likely to lead to a block. If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes; work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. --Kansas Bear (talk) 00:46, 3 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

I have blocked your account for 24 hours for edit warring. Please take care to adhere to WP:3RR in future. Regards — Martin (MSGJ · talk) 11:52, 7 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Regarding your comment sent via email, the edits you were reverting were not vandalism - it was a content dispute. There is no exemption for this. See WP:3RRNO - passage 4 - for more details. — Martin (MSGJ · talk) 13:14, 7 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]
