A tag has been placed on Mahdi Balali-Mood, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A2 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a foreign language article that was copied and pasted from another Wikimedia project, or was transwikied out to another project. Please see Wikipedia:Translation to learn about requests for, and coordination of, translations from foreign-language Wikipedias into English.

Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait a while for you to add contextual material, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on Talk:Mahdi Balali-Mood. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. HalfShadow 06:23, 17 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to reach Persian speaking people, might I suggest the Persian language Wikipedia? This is the English version of the site, and articles in other languages are usually either deleted or translated fairly quickly. Lankiveil (speak to me) 10:21, 17 October 2008 (UTC).[reply]

Autobiography

[edit]

Writing an autobiography on Wikipedia is strongly discouraged, unless your writing has been approved by other editors in the community. Editing a biography about yourself should only be done in clear-cut cases. See Wikipedia:Autobiography.  Andreas  (T) 17:25, 17 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

  • If the purpose of this article is to make a presence on Wikipedia, then it is spam and will be deleted immediately. This includes a personal resume. This sort of information needs to go in your own personal website, and you cannot expect Wikipedia to direct web traffic to your site. Personally, I do not see a problem with writing your own biography, but the article must satisfy Wikipedia's requirements for all biographies. This includes notability. Why would the Wikipedia reader want to know about you? Did you invent something or pioneer something? Have you been in the newspapers? If so, then you can probably write a noteworthy article about yourself. The English does not have to be perfect - we have thousands of editors that can help with that. If these newspaper articles exist on the Internet, then you can refer to them as references, which will help your article survive here. If you have successfully written a noteworthy biography in English, then it will probably survive on the Farsi Wikipedia, too. Let me know if you need any help. --Cbdorsett (talk) 06:31, 19 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
