Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia!

I hope that I don't seem unfriendly or make you feel unwelcome, but I noticed your username, and I am concerned that it might not meet Wikipedia's username policy for the following reason: Non cyryllic. After you look over that policy, could we discuss that concern here?

I'd appreciate learning your views, for instance, your reasons for wanting this particular name, and what alternative username you might accept that avoids raising this concern.

There are several options available to you:

Non-Latin alphabet unsername and signature

[edit]

Hello נועמקליין, and welcome to the English language Wikipedia. Regarding Onevalefan's note above, your non-Latin alphabet username is definitely not a violation of our username policy. In fact, it is explicitly permitted (see Wikipedia:Username policy#Non-English usernames) and is an inevitable result of encouraging common usernames across various Wikimedia projects. Signatures consisting only of non-Latin alphabet characters can be confusing however, so if you plan to edit the English language Wikipedia regularly, you are encouraged, as a courtesy to other users, to use Latin characters (most commonly a transliteration of your username) in your signature as described in WP:Signatures#Non-Latin. Again, welcome. -- Thinking of England (talk) 02:17, 8 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]
