Proposed deletion of Alternativ
[edit]The article Alternativ has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
- Non-notable band. Doesn't pass WP:GNG
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Del♉sion23 (talk) 21:17, 28 July 2016 (UTC)

Armenian Sketches moved to draftspace
[edit]An article you recently created, Armenian Sketches, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:
" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. [edit]Glen Sharkey and football
[edit]Sorry, I should have been clearer in my clarification request. What I meant was, What sort of football should be linked to? I would guess you mean association football, but in Australia & NZ there a few sports that are sometimes called just "football", so I am reluctant to presume. Cheers! —ShelfSkewed Talk 14:17, 23 November 2019 (UTC)
Thank you very much! I changed to the "soccer" (association football) Գարիկ Ավագյան (talk)
Independence of sources
[edit]Picking through the Sharkey material, I see that the sources you cited were:
- site of the organization of which Mr. Sharkey is president. Not independent.
- Facebook page of the organization through which he can be hired. Not independent, as they benefit financially from him receiving publicity.
- his own Facebook page. Obviously not independent.
- Asia Speakers. Closer to independent, I guess, but all it says is that he's the president of an organization. It's not even a full sentence, it's Mr. Abbott saying "I was on a four-person panel with Mr. Sharkey (president of the NZ organization), Mr. Goss, and Mr. Dous."
- the ABA. Again, closer to independent, but it's just his name in a list of 37 volunteer judges.
- his Amazon page. Not independent.
- you might think the NZ companies register is independent - but who do you think supplies the information to them? And even so, all it says is "this organization exists; its officials include Mr. Sharkey".
Total number of independent reliable sources: 0. DS (talk) 15:52, 2 January 2020 (UTC)
- Գարիկ Ավագյան, you could now file a request at WP:DRV to ask to have the article restored. It appears to me that DF67's deletion of the page was essentially out of process. The deletion was not based on a PROD tag or an outcome of an AfD, and it appears to have been some form of WP:CSD deletion. The deletion summary reads no, I'm sorry. Those sources don't count as independent, which I take most likely to be an implicit invokation of WP:A7 (although the deletion summary really needed to indicate this fact more clearly). However, for overcoming the WP:A7 bar an article does not need to establish notability, but merely to provide a plausible indication of notability (even if the sources used are not independent), which is a much lower threshhold. E.g. being president of a significant national professional organization, IMO, already provides a credible indication of notability. So there is a good chance that the deletion would be overturned if you file a request at DRV. However, keep in mind that the article can still be listed for AfD ater that, and there the availability of independent sources and the depth of coverage they provide would certainly come into play. Nsk92 (talk) 18:54, 4 January 2020 (UTC)
- Bearing in mind that there is a difference between "national professional organization" and "significant national professional organization", you are welcome to apply to have the article restored via DRV. Iff you succeed in this, I will give you one additional week (after creating a blatantly inadequate article on November 22, you tinkered with it until December 1, at which point its inadequacy was less blatant but still definitive... and then did nothing whatsoever; then on December 27, I deleted it) to locate actual independent sources for Mr. Sharkey; if you are not able to do so, I will take the article to AfD, where I fully anticipate it will again be deleted. A public record will remain of why Mr. Sharkey does not meet notability criteria; this will continue until, in the fullness of time, Mr. Sharkey writes in to request that it be blanked as a courtesy. You can make things go more easily if you first locate independent sources as to Mr. Sharkey's notability; I do not expect that such sources exist, but I am willing to be surprised. DS (talk) 16:52, 6 January 2020 (UTC)
- DragonflySixtyseven, Thank you very much for explanation. Anyway, you could move the article to "Draft:Glen Sharkey" until I find the necessary sources. Գարիկ Ավագյան (talk)
- Sorry, forgot to check for your answer. I see you remade the draft already; if there's anything from the deleted content you need, just let me know. DS (talk) 23:17, 19 January 2020 (UTC)

January 2020
[edit]Hello Գարիկ Ավագյան. The nature of your edits gives the impression you have an undisclosed financial stake in promoting a topic, but you have not complied with Wikipedia's mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. Paid advocacy is a category of conflict of interest (COI) editing that involves being compensated by a person, group, company or organization to use Wikipedia to promote their interests. Undisclosed paid advocacy is prohibited by our policies on neutral point of view and what Wikipedia is not, and is an especially egregious type of COI; the Wikimedia Foundation regards it as a "black hat" practice akin to black-hat SEO.
Paid advocates are very strongly discouraged from direct article editing, and should instead propose changes on the talk page of the article in question if an article exists, and if it does not, from attempting to write an article at all. At best, any proposed article creation should be submitted through the articles for creation process, rather than directly.
Regardless, if you are receiving or expect to receive compensation for your edits, broadly construed, you are required by the Wikimedia Terms of Use to disclose your employer, client and affiliation. You can post such a mandatory disclosure to your user page at User:Գարիկ Ավագյան. The template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=Գարիկ Ավագյան|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}
. If I am mistaken – you are not being directly or indirectly compensated for your edits – please state that in response to this message. Otherwise, please provide the required disclosure. In either case, do not edit further until you answer this message. Bilby (talk) 21:58, 20 January 2020 (UTC)
- Thank you for such useful information! No, I don't charge anything for my articles. If I am not mistaken, it is prohibited in Wikipedia. Գարիկ Ավագյան (talk)
The paid contributor template
[edit]Can you please fix the paid contributor template on your user page? You pasted {{paid|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}
. The two instances of "InsertName" need to be replaced by the actual employer and client. Largoplazo (talk) 11:07, 30 January 2020 (UTC)
- Hello Գարիկ Ավագյան, I see you have disclosed your paid editing status on your userpage, but you missed to disclosed link(s) to all active accounts at websites where you advertise paid Wikipedia-editing services. Please do so before making any further edit per WP:PAID to comply with full disclosure guidelines. Thank you. GSS 💬 18:34, 30 January 2020 (UTC)
- Could you also list the other articles for which you have been paid or were otherwise hired to edit. - Bilby (talk) 21:58, 30 January 2020 (UTC)
Thank you very much for your help! Գարիկ Ավագյան (talk) 19:33, 1 February 2020 (UTC)
- Գարիկ Ավագյան, as per your Upwork profile you were hired to create two articles last month so, can you please disclose their titles? GSS 💬 09:07, 20 February 2020 (UTC)
