Wikilinking

[edit]

Hi, and thanks for your work on the English Wikipedia.

I noticed an article you worked on. Just a short note to point out that we don’t normally link:

  • dates
  • years
  • commonly known geographical terms (including well-known country-names), and
  • common terms you’d look up in a dictionary (unless significantly technical).

(This even applies to infoboxes.)

Thanks, and my best wishes.

Speedy deletion nomination of Willy (Character)

[edit]

Hello Дед Мороз1,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Willy (Character) for deletion, because the article doesn't clearly say why the subject is important enough to be included in an encyclopedia.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Katrinamoris2014 (talk) 09:32, 11 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Please do not remove speedy deletion notices from pages you have created yourself, as you did with Willy (Character). If you believe the page should not be deleted, you may contest the deletion by clicking on the button that says: Click here to contest this speedy deletion, which appears inside the speedy deletion notice. This will allow you to make your case on the article's talk page. Administrators will consider your reasoning before deciding what to do with the article. Thank you. English

[edit]

Please stop creating articles. Every one of the articles you have created so far contains sequences of English words which do not fit together to make sentences. parts of what you have written can be understood with some effort, while other parts are completely incomprehensible: that is to say that I really do not know what you were trying to say. At the best, the articles you create will make a lot of work for other editors to clean them up and rewrite them in English, and at the worst there will be several articles on English Wikipedia that are not in anything that can reasonably be called "English". Perhaps you would be better off writing articles for Czech Wikipedia or Russian Wikipedia. The editor who uses the pseudonym "JamesBWatson" (talk) 11:19, 12 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Я думал, что английский в моих статьях хороший. В цсвики а рувики уже очень долго пишу, так вернусь там.

I thought that my articles in English is good. In cswiki and ruviki already very long writing, so go back there.--Дед Мороз (Toмa646) (talk) 11:30, 12 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Since posting the above message, I have discovered that you have been posting Google translations of Czech and Russian Wikipedia articles to English Wikipedia. There are two problems with that.

  1. Google translations, as I have indicated above, are usually far too poor to be used as the text of articles. Translations from some languages into English are poor but readable, but translations from some other languages are just not readable. You must not continue to post Google translations to articles.
  2. Copying content from a Wikipedia article without attribution is an infringement of copyright. Technically, that means that the articles you have created can be speedily deleted. If copyright were the only issue, rather than deleting the articles, I would do my best to deal with the attribution problem by posting information about the origin of the material. That would not be as good as including attribution with the initial post, but it would perhaps be a tolerable compromise. However, there is really no point in cobbling together such a clumsy compromise to save articles which are barely readable (and in places totally unreadable) anyway. I am therefore going to delete articles that you have created by pasting Google translations in something which is not really English.

Once again, please stop creating articles in a language in which you do not have basic competence. Google translations are not good enough by a long way.

I am not sure what you mean by "In cswiki and ruviki already very long writing", but you have made one edit to each of them, unless there are many more edits that have all been deleted. The editor who uses the pseudonym "JamesBWatson" (talk) 11:41, 12 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

But why copyright infringement when those articles I wrote it in Czech Wikipedia?--Дед Мороз (Toмa646) (talk) 11:52, 12 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

What i do so bad, that i blocked. I just wanted just trying to help, more articles not do with google translate. And i want unblock my discussion page on User:Toma646, because it rasism block talkpage for use my native language.--Дед Мороз (Toмa646) (talk) 10:50, 13 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Decline reason:

You have been told already, more than once what is wrong. You may not use multiple accounts to go on doing what you have been told not to do. What you have been doing is not suitable for the English language Wikipedia. It is not racism to tell you that your use of the English language does not appear to be good enough for editing here. If you want to edit on a Wikipedia, please do so on one where you do have a good knowledge of the language used there, and do follow their rules about posting too. If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.
