Hello. I appreciate your work on Warith Deen Mohammed, but I'm afraid that some of the content you've added has had to be removed. For instance, you added this sentence and cited the Independent article:

The first marriage was with Mosque and State but the ones that followed was only within the Mosque.

This information does not seem to be in the Independent article cited - all it says with regards to his marital state is "married four times (nine children)" ([1])

One of our core content policies on Wikipedia is verifiability - we cannot add content to articles even if we know it is true unless it is verifiable by reliable, published sources, and it's really important that we do not cite a source incorrectly. Likewise, the names of his wife and children are not in that source and had to be removed. If you have reliable, published sources that support this information, please feel free to restore it. WP:IRS can help you identify what qualifies as a "reliable source".

Thank you. --Moonriddengirl (talk) 02:17, 15 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Certainly no information supported by reliable sources was removed by intention. There was information removed that was sourced to a personal website ([2])- these are almost never reliable sources according to our guidelines. Reliable sources generally are peer reviewed, like news sources, magazines and books. (WP:IRS, which I linked above, discusses this more.) Without the unusable source, that left this statement - "However this polygamy assertion is disputed within the community" - with only this as a reference: [3]. This source is dated 1991 and is clearly not in answer to Laila Mohammed's 2011 interview; as an interview with Mohammed himself, it cannot support what the community disputes. Some names were also removed that are not mentioned in the sources cited. --Moonriddengirl (talk) 05:39, 15 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • Hello $indbad 408, you have indicated a Blog as a source. This is not a reliable reference according to WP guidelines. Unless you can quote an independent source that is verifiable, it is best that you do not cite this in the article. Audit Guy (talk) 06:39, 15 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]
If you find any unsuitable sources in the article, you may freely review and edit them. What WP is looking for are verifiable independent sources, e.g. news agencies etc. Audit Guy (talk) 01:17, 16 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]
