Mike Tomlin
My goal is to standardize all of the entries for NFL head coaches, beginning with the current ones. Hence my addition to Tomlin's page, which I have recently standardized for every current coach except Bill Belichick (His entry has a substantial section, and I don't want to undermine it before setting up some standard first). I'm certainly willing to concede that Mike Tomlin does not have an influential or lengthy coaching tree considering his young career. I think, however, it is notable to see who head coaches previously served under, and which of their assistants have become head coaches. I would propose that the lists remain on all pages, and that further explanation be included on those coaches for whom it is relevant (Bill Belichick, Tony Dungy, Bill Parcells, etc.). I have not begun working on any past head coaches yet, with the intent to clean up the current slate first.J. Matthew Bailey (talk) 06:07, 12 February 2009 (UTC)
Speedy delete tags
Anyone other than the article's author can remove these tags. This indicates there is some indication the subject is notable, and that it's not a clear case. The next step would be discussion. You can ask the person why they think it's notable, and if you're not satisfied you can take it to wp:AfD. ChildofMidnight (talk) 02:54, 1 January 2009 (UTC)
Happy New Year
I think the key words you used were "got away with". I notice the Dez Bryant article is A-okay, and the speedy nom was declined. Just because someone gets away with something doesn't mean it's a good idea. If speedy deletion is contested you can certainly take it to wp:AfD. I would suggest following the advice of good faith editors who steer you right, rather than imitating things that seem shady. I don't think there's a hard and fast rule about re-adding a speedy tag, but it's kind of bad form when it's contested, because it's a clear indication that it's not a clear case which is the whole basis for a speedy deletion. Take care. ChildofMidnight (talk) 03:16, 1 January 2009 (UTC)
- What do you think about this article and AfD: NFC South Curse? ChildofMidnight (talk) 03:27, 1 January 2009 (UTC)
- You're welcome to participate in the AfD. Make sure to include your reasoning. Keep in mind that a merge is also an option, and articles are deleted or kept based on notability. Have fun. ChildofMidnight (talk) 03:30, 1 January 2009 (UTC)

Baseball Hall of Famers
Hey Yankees how are you doin'? I was wondering if you can help me to get User:Kinston eagle to understand that when players are voted in the Hall of Fame that they are Hall of Famers. Thanks --Phbasketball6 (talk) 21:12, 12 January 2009 (UTC)
- He has already tried to convince me that Wikipedia has the power to change reality by consensus, and he wasn't successful. Kinston eagle (talk) 21:18, 12 January 2009 (UTC)
Explanation
Why did you remove the changes I made to the Brian Dawkins' entry? I think the fact that he's the longest tenured athlete in Philadelphia is a relevant point, one which is easily verifiable, well-known in the Philly area but not outside of it, and is an interesting piece of information that deserves to be on the page --- in other words, exactly the sort of thing you'd find on wikipedia. Please explain. Surely the reason can't be that there is too much information on the page --- check out the Ed Reed entry by comparison. If you wanted to change the wording of it or relocate it to another portion of the article, then fine --- but to delete it entirely is unnecessary.Stoops Mike (talk) 18:55, 13 January 2009 (UTC)
Recent edits to Jackie Robinson infobox
FYI, I opened a discussion of a recent edit made by User:Smel4727 to the Jackie Robinson infobox and your subsequent reversion of it. If you'd like to contribute to the discussion, please see Talk:Jackie Robinson#1945 Negro League All Star game. BRMo (talk) 03:23, 27 January 2009 (UTC)
Re: American Football player articles
Yeah, I'd be interested in doing some more articles! Perhaps you could make a subpage at WP:NFL with requested articles so multiple people can work on the list. How many players are on the list? Thanks! Patken4 (talk) 00:28, 6 February 2009 (UTC)
- Yeah, give me a list of some of the players. Thanks! Patken4 (talk) 00:39, 6 February 2009 (UTC)
- That should be good for now. Just send me the link to new requested players article once you complete it. Thanks! Patken4 (talk) 01:13, 6 February 2009 (UTC)
- That would work. At the hockey project, we have Wikipedia:WikiProject_Ice_Hockey/Requested_articles. Patken4 (talk) 16:39, 7 February 2009 (UTC)
Jeff Smith
Which Jeff Smith do you want an article on? There are five that I can find, and there is already an article on the running back. I think you want the offensive lineman since he was the only other one who played more than one year. Thanks! Patken4 (talk) 00:32, 11 February 2009 (UTC)
- I use DatabaseFootball. Is more reliable than the other? Patken4 (talk) 00:42, 11 February 2009 (UTC)
Chris Brown
Why is his article now located at Chris R. Brown (running back)?►Chris NelsonHolla! 04:09, 12 February 2009 (UTC)
Comment
Thanks, I think AWB does that as an automated edit when I edit the page. Is it messing anything up?--Kumioko (talk) 02:28, 13 February 2009 (UTC)
I added a new section to WP:baseball. I think you should read it and offer your opinion.--Johnny Spasm (talk) 10:15, 13 February 2009 (UTC)
Jackal4
Jackal4 has run amok on a number of baseball pages. Pls take a look at my comments on his discussion page -- perhaps you can talk sense into him. Many thanks.--Epeefleche (talk) 05:57, 20 February 2009 (UTC)
