Evaluate an Article
[edit]This is where you will complete your article evaluation. Please use the template below to evaluate your selected article.
- Name of article: One Piece: Pirate Warriors 4
- I chose this article because I really love video games and want to help gamers who want to play a game but might not know anything about the characters be able to get into the game with a bit of knowledge while playing it.
Lead
[edit]- Guiding questions
- Does the Lead include an introductory sentence that concisely and clearly describes the article's topic?
- Does the Lead include a brief description of the article's major sections?
- Does the Lead include information that is not present in the article?
- Is the Lead concise or is it overly detailed?
Lead evaluation
[edit]The lead is very concise but could be more about the game. With the links only going to the trailers and not to any game play features. I think overall the lead is good their could be more like explain what the game is about and the place of the story this game takes place in.
Content
[edit]- Guiding questions
- Is the article's content relevant to the topic?
- Is the content up-to-date?
- Is there content that is missing or content that does not belong?
Content evaluation
[edit]The content in the article is not up-to-date because the game has been release and their could be more information about either how the game can be played or the things you can earn in it. The content is relevant but the characters you can unlock all do not have a link to them which is not good because if a person wanted to know who "Buggy" they can't simply click on "Buggy" name they would have to search and it makes the article less enjoyable to read or click on.
Tone and Balance
[edit]- Guiding questions
- Is the article neutral?
- Are there any claims that appear heavily biased toward a particular position?
- Are there viewpoints that are overrepresented, or underrepresented?
- Does the article attempt to persuade the reader in favor of one position or away from another?
Tone and balance evaluation
[edit]I say the article is neutral the only thing I think of it being biased is the reception heading where you see only one score from one reviewer which shows a good score but people want to see both sides. Just showing a good score could be a bad thing because if that person feels like the game is not an eight they will feel this article is a lie and people will not click to review what the article is about. Needs more in Reception and Development those are underrepresented. The article makes this game sound way to much fun and too good it needs more neutrality so people can make their on decision on if this game is good or not.
Sources and References
[edit]- Guiding questions
- Are all facts in the article backed up by a reliable secondary source of information?
- Are the sources thorough - i.e. Do they reflect the available literature on the topic?
- Are the sources current?
- Check a few links. Do they work?
Sources and references evaluation
[edit]I say the sources are current and some could be updated too. The sources are good for what the article is about which is checking video game sites that can give information about the game. The sources do work the ones I clicked on so if we were to add more the article has some working ones as well.
Organization
[edit]- Guiding questions
- Is the article well-written - i.e. Is it concise, clear, and easy to read?
- Does the article have any grammatical or spelling errors?
- Is the article well-organized - i.e. broken down into sections that reflect the major points of the topic?
Organization evaluation
[edit]The article sections are broken down to major points but each section needs more things added to make this article more then a quick peek but a good read on what this game is about. No grammatical errors I could find. Article is easy to read but I felt more could be added to make it explain what the game is about and what you can do in it.
Images and Media
[edit]- Guiding questions
- Does the article include images that enhance understanding of the topic?
- Are images well-captioned?
- Do all images adhere to Wikipedia's copyright regulations?
- Are the images laid out in a visually appealing way?
Images and media evaluation
[edit]The only image is the cover art of the game so people can see what the game cover looks like. No other images were on the page and I feel that a few more images like from the game could be added to enhance the understanding of the game.
Checking the talk page
[edit]- Guiding questions
- What kinds of conversations, if any, are going on behind the scenes about how to represent this topic?
- How is the article rated? Is it a part of any WikiProjects?
- How does the way Wikipedia discusses this topic differ from the way we've talked about it in class?
Talk page evaluation
[edit]Their no one talking on the page but this is part of the video games and anime WikiProjects. This article is rated start-class quality and mid-importance in video games while in anime this game got a start-class quality and low importance on those to scales.
Overall impressions
[edit]- Guiding questions
- What is the article's overall status?
- What are the article's strengths?
- How can the article be improved?
- How would you assess the article's completeness - i.e. Is the article well-developed? Is it underdeveloped or poorly developed?
Overall evaluation
[edit]The article as a whole their is some improvement to make this article better like adding more information about what happens in the game or game play that happens in the game. The article needs more links for the characters they list since some do while others don't. The article does well is explaining the series of this game since this is the fourth installment but could talk more about it. This article is underdeveloped and could be better then what it is right now.
