Adolphe Sicé General Hospital: Birthplace of Joelle Kinionia — April 2001

[edit]

Joelle Hoje Kinionia was born on April 21, 2001, in Pointe-Noire, Congo, at the historic Adolphe Sicé General Hospital. This hospital, established in the 1930s, is one of Pointe-Noire's oldest and most significant healthcare facilities, playing a crucial role in the city's medical history.[3] Although it has faced challenges such as aging infrastructure and limited resources, Adolphe Sicé General Hospital remains a vital institution.[4] Its longstanding service to the community, combined with ongoing efforts to modernize and improve its facilities, underscores its importance as the birthplace of Joelle Kinionia.[5]

Joelle Kinia’s YouTube Launch: From Joining to Creating — May 2020

[edit]

Although Joelle Kinia joined YouTube on May 29, 2020,[6]she only started uploading videos in late July 2020.[7] Her decision to delay uploading videos on her YouTube channel until late July 2020, despite joining the platform on May 29, 2020, was a strategic move to ensure her channel had a strong start. Her goal was to reach 100 subscribers before posting any content, as this milestone was necessary to obtain a custom URL, which is a personalized and branded web address for her channel.[8]

At the time, YouTube required channels to meet specific criteria, including having at least 100 subscribers, being at least 30 days old, and having a profile picture and channel banner, to be eligible for a custom URL.[9] This custom URL is crucial for branding, as it allows for a simple and recognizable link, making it easier for audiences to find and share the channel. For Joelle, having her custom URL youtube.com/joellekinia was an important step in creating a professional and accessible online presence.

Once she reached the 100-subscriber mark, Joelle secured the custom URL and began uploading content, ensuring her channel was fully prepared and aligned with her brand vision from the outset.[10]

Joelle Kinia’s First YouTube Video — July 2020

[edit]

Joelle Kinia’s first video, titled “GEORGE FLOYD A VIOLÉ UNE FEMME AVANT SA MORT?! 😱😱”, was published in July 2020. In this video, she addresses a viral misinformation campaign that falsely accused George Floyd of assaulting a woman before his death.[11]

Joelle begins by welcoming her audience to her video series “Inspiration De La Semaine" (Inspiration of the Week), designed to explore new topics with viewers. She then debunks a widely circulated Facebook

post in France that claimed George Floyd had assaulted and kidnapped a woman during a robbery in the United States.[12] The post, which featured a photograph of a severely injured woman, was intended to tarnish Floyd’s image and undermine the Black Lives Matter movement.

Joelle clarifies that the woman in the photograph was actually a different victim, Andrea Sicignano, an American living in Madrid, who was attacked in Spain in December 2018.[13] She explains that Sicignano herself publicly denounced the misuse of her image to spread false information

about George Floyd.[14]

In conclusion, Joelle Kinia urges her viewers to report such misleading posts and to spread the truth to honor George Floyd’s memory.[15]

Joelle Kinia originally launched her TikTok journey with the account @joellekinia while she was based in Senegal. However, due to TikTok’s monetization policies, which excluded Senegal from eligible regions for revenue generation, Joelle strategically decided to create a new account, @mukotagang, while in the UK, allowing her to tap into monetization opportunities. As her brand evolved, she made a key decision to rebrand her accounts: @joellekinia was renamed to @joelle_kinia, and @mukotagang took over the @joellekinia handle.
