ICD-11 was released in June 2018 and will come into affect on January 1st 2022.[1] ICD-11 will provide an update on the diagnostic criteria for PTSD compared to ICD-10. [2] Three components of the ICD-11 criteria include re-experiencing, evidence, and sense of threat. One other difference between ICD-10 and ICD-11 is that verbal thoughts about the event is removed as a symptom. [2] There is a predicted lower rate of prevalence of diagnosed PTSD using ICD-11 compared to ICD10 or DSM-5. [2]

ICD-11 also proposes identifying a distinct group with Complex Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (CPTSD), who have more often experienced multiple and sustained traumas and have greater functional impairment than those with PTSD. [2]

Great use of secondary sources. I made a small copy edit to your text, but I think that you did a good job.

  • References go immediately after the punctuation like this.1 No spaces between the period and punctuation.
  • Can you expand the sentence "verbal thoughts about the event is also removed as a symptom"? e.g.: One other difference between ICD-10 and ICD-11 is that verbal...?
