Yinka Smart is a Nigerian Theatre/Film/TV producer, director and teacher. He has been a producer in the Nigerian Entertainment sector for over 3 decades. Smart holds a BA (Hons) in Theatre Arts from the University of Ibadan, Nigeria where he also bagged his MA in African Studies. His first film The 11th Commandment was produced in 1997 on locations in London. His most successful film is Akobi Gomina, a political drama that exposes the hypocrisy and brigandage of the political class in Nigeria since 1999. Smart now teaches Acting and Directing at his Alma Mater. He is also the consulting Director of Smart Image Film and Theatre Institute, Ibadan , Nigeria. His other works include Mayowa (1999), London Lawa (1998), Baba Soja (2003), Ogun Abele (2003), Olewu Igi Oyin (2004), Ladepo Omo Adanwo (2005) etc. He also directed the UNDP/EU/MIgartion Aware docu-drama Dead End (2011). He is the producer and director of UI@70 video documentary in commemoration of University of Ibadan at 70 in 2018.
