Dinosaurs were the animals that lived on this planet 65 Million years ago! That is definitely way before we were made
What Dinosaurs Ate
Dinosaurs were sorted into three different categories. There were plant-eaters,meat-eaters and dinosaurs who ate both.
How Dinosaurs Went Extinct
Dinosaurs went extinct from a 10 kilometer wide meteor (6 miles) then they were buried into the ground. But some people think they went extinct from a giant volcano eruption. And some people think it could be a massive earthquake too!
How Dinosaurs Became Fossils
The dinosaurs first turned into skeletons. Then they got buried into the ground by mud. Then the mud turned hard like rock and kept them in there for a very long time.Then the bones turned into fossils after a very long time.Then the mud turned into dust and then it revealed the fossil.
Where Dinosaurs Lived
Dinosaurs lived in many places like trees, rivers, beaches, caves and basically everywhere else on the planet!
Dinosaur Eggs
Dinosaur eggs were very different. Each of them had different shapes colors and patterns! Dinosaur eggs were actually left alone and not sat on because the eggs would break if the mother sat on them because dinosaurs are very big. So the mother covered them with leaves to keep them warm until they hatched.
Where You Can See Dinosaurs
You can see dinosaurs in many places but one of the main places people go to see them are museums. One of the best museums to go to to see dinosaur fossils is the Natural History Museum in Washington D.C
The King Of Dinosaurs
The “King Of Dinosaurs” is not actually a king. It is a tyrannosaurus rex. The tyrannosaurus rex was a very strong dinosaur so every other dinosaur was scared of it. Its teeth were so strong that it could crush bones!
Dinosaur Packs.
Dinosaur packs are a group of dinosaurs also called a herd. Some dinosaurs who lived in a herd have special abilities. An example of this is a hadrosaur. A hadrosaur had a hollow horn on their head which they could use to warn others that another dinosaur is coming.
Herbivores
Herbivores are plant eating dinosaurs. There is lots of Herbivores. An example of one is a stegosaurus. The stegosaurus looked very big and scary but he wasn't but it still that tricked the other dinosaurs so the stegosaurus could eat in peace. Herbivores had different teeth than carnivores. Herbivores had square flat teeth so they can easily chop plants.
Carnivores
Carnivores are meat eating dinosaurs. Carnivores usually ate lizards,snakes and even other dinosaurs! Carnivores had sharp and pointy teeth unlike herbivores. Meat eaters had special jaws that let their mouth open extra wide. Hunting dinosaur packs were very small. You would probably think that that would make them weak but they are still very strong.
