Paul Shapera is an American author, composer, audio producer and songwriter. He is most well known for being the composer and lyricist of The Dolls of New Albion, which has been staged numerous times.
Career[edit]
In 2012, Paul Shapera released The Dolls of New Albion, A Steampunk Opera, which is considered by some as the first ever opera of the steampunk genre [1]. The music has gained favorable reviews on its own, both within the English-speaking world [2] [3] and beyond [4]. The opera was produced multiple times, the productions receiving acclaim too [5].
Shapera later published sequels to The Dolls od New Albion, namely The New Albion Radio Hour and The New Albion Guide To Analogue Consciousness, respectively a dieselpunk and an atompunk opera, the later having been cited among the references of the genre [6]. The Room Beneath New Albion completes the tetralogy.
