Tharun Moorthy (born on 19th June ) is an indian theatre activist and an established actor in theater and shortfilms. He is known as a kathakali performer and writer in kerala
Tharun Moorthy is an 15 year trained Kathakali performer under Kalamandalom Jayaprakash and RLV Reghu.Performed Kathakali all over Indian under different groups.He also have experience of conducting workshops on Kathakali,Acting,Rhythm for different age groups in different sectors.
Tharun is also an established theater activist working under Nadakakalari established in 1964 with the strength of ten years experience in theater.He coordinated theater acting workshop for various schools in Kerala.
Career
[edit]Tharun started his passion towards acting and Kathakali from his childhood itself. He started his skills first on colors and pencil. Colors and rhythms of kathakali excited him to follow the art and he undergone 15year training under Kalamandalam Jayaprakash and RLV Reghu. Passion towards acting come through his father. He trained under his father in Monoacts and plays and get noticed by the public during the school times.
Professionally he is a M.tech graduate in computer science and worked in College of Engineering Kidangoor. Now he started a abroad workshop project along with his friend Vimal romeo " Moorthy act studio" to share his experience in kathakali and indian theater and culture .
He got established more among malayalies through his shortfilms.all were available in YouTube by his name
Personal Life
[edit]Tharun Moorthy one and only child of his parents. He done his schooling from Athurasramam and SNDP HSS Udayamperoor. He got noticed by his skills during that period. Then took B.Tech from CUSAT and M.tech from NIU in Computer science.
Married Revathy Roy on May 9 2016 and they have a son named "Issai".
