Thomas Joseph McCarvel Sr. (/məˈkɑːrvɪl/; 14 February 1889 - 6 March 1969) was an Irish-American railroader, miner, and politician who served as the 23rd mayor of Anaconda, Montana. He assumed office upon the death of his predecessor, Frank Joseph Provost, in 1936 and continued to serve until he lost the Democratic Party primary for mayor in 1939.

A progressive, McCarvel's early term was largely charactarized by a continuation of Mayor Provost's policies.[4]
