Memorial Site (around 40 hectares) on January 26 2017 after a solemn agreement was signed: Kraków Municipal Commune, Jewish Religious Community in Krakow and the Historical Museum of the City of Krakow settling the matter of legal ownership of land entering the area of the future museum, including the historical object - Gray House PL:Szary Dom (Kraków). This land was sold by the Jewish Religious Community to city Kraków. The agreement was a milestone in the implementation of the future Museum - Memorial Site on the site of the former KL Plaszow.[1]

The former camp of KL Plaszow is a legacy of which we are primarily depositaries, Krakow residents, the Municipality of Krakow and representatives of local institutions and communities. However, this is above all, a responsibility whose importance we understand perfectly. Recently, the area of KL Plaszow former concentration camp has been newly surrounded with interest, care and educational activities that spread its history among residents and tourists - said President Jacek Majchrowski.

Announced in 2006 architectural competition for implementation of the project to commemorate KL Plaszow had involved numerous bodies.

Education would not have been possible without the participation of the Social Committee for the Restoration of Krakow's Monuments and the funds provided by it, which enabled the reconstruction and legalization of the former camp. The Jewish Religious Community in Krakow gave full acceptance and support for each initiave in restoring the KL Plaszow.

In 2016, the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage joined the group of institutions supporting the creation of the future Museum - Memorial Site. Thanks to the funds obtained from the ministerial program "Cultural Heritage - National Remembrance Site", the Historical Museum of the City of Krakow conducts archaeological research and queries on the basis of which a scenario of the future commemoration of the former KL Plaszow is created.[2]
