The New York City Mayor's Office of Food Policy (MOFP) is an office of the Mayor of New York City established in 2008 by Michael Bloomberg to develop and coordinate strategies aimed at ensuring food security, supporting the local food economy, and promoting sustainability across the city's food systems. The office prioritizes equitable food access, environmental sustainability, and resilience in the face of crises like the COVID-19 pandemic, which highlighted severe vulnerabilities in New York City's food infrastructure. The office reports to Ana Almanzar, the New York City Deputy Mayor for Strategic Initiatives.

MOFP's main initiative, Food Forward NYC, is a comprehensive 10-year food policy plan launched in 2021, targeting the creation of a food system that is equitable, resilient, and sustainable by 2031. The plan focuses on five key goals. Improving access to healthy and affordable food, fostering economic opportunities within the food industry, enhancing food supply chain efficiency, promoting sustainable production, and establishing support systems for food policy implementation. Food Forward NYC introduced plant-based initiatives and local partnerships to reduce food insecurity and minimize environmental impacts associated with food production and distribution.

The office collaborates with various city agencies and community organizations to implement initiatives such as the Good Food Purchasing Program, which integrates worker and environmental welfare into city food procurement policies. MOFP's annual Food Metrics Report provides data on the progress and challenges within the food landscape, supporting transparency and accountability in policy efforts.

The office partners with local organizations to address food equity and expand initiatives like Health Bucks and farmer's markets in underserved communities.
